I keep forgetting this movie coming out this year. Nothing looks bad about it, but it just seems to get over shadowed by everything else pretty easily.
John Wagner apparently likes the movie. I bet it'll be pretty good.
I hope it's stupid violent.
Nothing's gonna happen without a warning
That's a really lovely looking poster. Kudos!
I think this could be potentially brilliant. Alex Garland from 28 Days Later is involved and people are comparing it to The Raid in terms of action and violence. Wagner's approval is pretty important as well; he comes across as a pretty straight-forward guy in his opinions and never did the PR crap for the Stallone travesty, pretty much telling it like it is in terms of everything they got wrong.
Hopefully it'll do well enough to spawn a bigger-budgeted sequel!
It's Karl Urban , the guy is void of charisma. Better hope that it's full of action and gore and all such of mayhem to keep the audience occupied.
Well, yeah; that is the plan. Urban's a decent actor, but this is a fast paced, violent action film for adults.
Dredd doesn't spend any time brooding on rooftops because his folks were murdered or rescuing Mary Jane from hostage situations. Completely different films, and completely different performances required.
As Preacher says, Dredd creator John Wagner's approval isn't easily won. When he visited the set of the 1995 film, he walked straight up to Director Danny Cannon and told him "you're filming the wrong f****** story". He was right about that awful film, and his thumbs up for the forthcoming effort is the best news possible.
That poster is just EVIL.
The film now has an official website
