I don't want to clog up the BP thread with my arguments about the marriages portrayal anymore but since this topic won't die I think we need a thread to actually talk about it.

It is apropos to the topic in a sense...in that it illustrates just how much leeway the x-writers (and that one writer in particular, h.w.m.n.b.n) are/were afforded to write wot they want regardless of how: 1. Illogical. 2. Divergent or completely ignored from continuity or 3. Just plain PIS, their ideas may be.

The treatment by the X-office in particular of Storm and T'Challa's marriage absolutely falls somewhere between those three instances.

QUESTION: is the Storm vs. T'Challa in the AvsX battles from the fight we've already heard about, or is it a rematch?
The reason I ask is (so far) all the battles in the tie-in seem to take place very close to the AvsX event (in time); and it seems odd that so many weeks later their battle will be shown. Does it make sense this is a rematch, rather than a telling of that battle?

We never saw It. So odds are it's the Vs. Not sure, but they never said it was going to line up, just that it would highlight fights they could not show in the main book.

I agree they never said they'd line up... but so far, they have. The next AvsX sees Magik vs. Black Widow on the moon (i.e. near the time it happened). The T'challa vs. Storm match is not for ages. It could be a rematch? I mean why leave that so long, when the others seem to line up pretty close?

Maybe they do. Who knows, I will tell you that they are probably not thinking hard about it. It's BP and Storm. But we have not even seen the first match. And maybe they just wanted to show what happened in that fight.

I would assume that since the fight was only a few panels and most people dont believe that storm actually lost but threw the fight that the VS series would just clear this up.

It they split over this I will be so underwhelmed I may lose interest in both characters. And that's saying a lot.

And I dropped every Spidey comic Ive ever owned over OMD. I mean some people said they did it..I actually sold them all.

The only other time I did that was Grant Morrison's X-men run..and I sold them all cheap.

My point is that white writers SHOULD be able to do it fine. It's not like these characters are jello monsters who function solely on their reptile brains.
