The very obvious issue is that the mechanisms are useless without being able to make the formula. May and Gwen don't know it most likely but Peter does. Hell the 616 verse Spidey probably have the most advanced formulas.

I guess I've already said this, but to make my point clearer, I don't want Miles to have an important part of his origin story involve a plot device that's kind of a stretch. I don't ming bizarre pseudo-science in self contained stories, but having it effect the entire story of how the character came about just kinda seems cheap. If 616 Peter gives Miles the web shooters, it'd be kind of like cheating, whereas if he gets them from Aunt May or Gwen, then they were passed down to him from the first spider-man, and they're symbolic of him carrying out his legacy. The web shooters would also symbolize the approval of Aunt May or Gwen depending on who they came from.

Another idea I find more acceptable than him getting them from 616 Peter is he gets them from Tony Stark or Nick Fury. Peter may have invented the webbing formula but there's no reason at this point for Tony Stark or Shield not to know it. This origin would at least be somewhat impressive because it means Miles was good enough before he got his webbing to make shield want to help him out.

Anything's better than just having them handed to him by 616 Peter. I just feel like that part of his story should be contained in the Ultimate Universe. Imagine they made a movie about Miles. They definitely wouldn't want to have Toby Maguire swing in and say "hey you're gonna need these to shoot webs!"

This entire post is similar to one I made in this very thread about the cheapness of 616 Peter hand-me-down webs. I agree with every word, especially about Iron Man or Shield giving them to him. My post lacked that. Thanks for the insight.

So it looks like he has webs on the cover of UCSM #14. I'm pretty sure Spider-Men takes place at the end of Ends of the Earth for Peter and after Issue #12 for Miles. I'm hoping Miles will get the web shooters in UCSM #12 or #13. But maybe he won't get them until #14. Either way it better not come from Peter

I'd rather he get them from May myself, but you definitely can't trust the covers. Miles had webs on the cover of issue one, too. I'm sure he's getting them at some point, but the covers don't really mean anything.

Good point. why didn't it occur to me that he had webs on those covers? I guess I wasn't looking for it at the time.. I was just used to spider-man having webs

How come I'm the only one who wants him to get them from Gwen? You know like after he says "with great power comes great responsibility" and she remembers who he is and she's impressed that he took it to heart. That'd be a great reason for Miles to receive the web shooters.

I never thought about that but him repeating the line and her remembering who is behind the mask would be a nice sentiment.

I don't mind him not getting web shooters, but he probably will.

I don't have any expectation of when he's going to get them. The only think I hope is that he doesn't get them from 616 Peter, because that would make his origin too convoluted.

I mind it cause he's not really Spidey without them, its just a character defining thing, even with this being a different Spidey it's still a thing spideys been round 50 years always with webs just a standard for me. Loving the title other then that
