Okay, so I've read the issue now...

Not bad. In fact, it was a pretty good read. Certainly good enough for me to pick up #3, so it's been a lot more successful than the first issue IMO. And whilst the artwork wasn't perfect, I thought it was a lot more consistent than last month.

I might well have a surprise addition to my list of monthlies here.

It feels like the writer is simply relishing the opportunity to write a mainstream comic, so he's throwing in all the wacky ideas and over-the-top dialogue he can. I love it.
I'm totally with you there. After reading this comic I was like "wow that was a lot of fun...but what the hell just happened?!?"

--the scariest silly comic book since Groo became enamored of commercial entertainment. brings me back to the excitement of Morrison's Doom Patrol. proof "a Vertigo book" doesn't need nudity or cusswords: maybe it's not under the Vertigo banner, but for me, China Mieville's writing a deep, engaging, thought-lifting character and world and that to me is the essence of Vertigo. also, it's funny; inspired lunacy an old Next Wave fan is happy about. Iron Snail. Oh yeah.

You know, both already has one (it's called Dial H). Though if there is one that needs an ongoing, then it's Captain Lachrymose.

And Captain Lachrymose got a mention in the second issue!

Although I'm also fond of Shamanticore.

The other thing that I really enjoyed that nobody else mentioned was the emoticons on Ctrl-Alt-Delete's monitor. This may become my favorite book. I'm confused as hell, but damn it's a visual treat.

What a great book, and its just the second issue! I can really see this series reaching a cult favorite status, if its allowed to breathe and the plug isn't pulled too soon.

Im loving it but I can see it not being everyone's cup of tea, still I hope that sales won't slip too much.
