    Default having never watched Community

I really don't know what to say about this directing choice, not what I expected.

My biggest concern is the screenplay and Hugo Weaving (both of which crippled the last third of CA:TFA). If it's the same team writing this time around, I hope they don't drop the ball with the climax again as they turned what could have been a great adaption into an okay one. And Weaving didn't convince me he was Schmidt/RS.

I hope Ed Brubaker gets the chance to write the screenplay for a Cap or Winter Soldier movie: he has the perfect actor for Steve Rogers and his love and knowledge of Cap/Bucky would translate nicely onto the screen.

    Guess we'll wait and see.

I thought Weaving was great but he's not coming back (apparently he's done with blockbuster type movies). As for the third act issue I don't think they will be rushing to a conclusion like the last Cap movie (though I didn't think it was that disastrous last time).

    We shall see.

Apparently Whedon wrote a Peggy Carter scene that got scrapped for The Avengers. I wonder if we'll see that in the movie.

You sure they didn't sign up up for like a 2 picture deal or something? Considering how obvious it was that he didn't really die at the end of Captain America, I'd find it pretty stunning if Marvel didn't try to lock up Hugo for a return bout.
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...

Best known for their work directing "You, Me and Dupree"
    Eh...

and over 30 episodes of NBC's critically acclaimed "Community,"
    Okay, sold.

No, seriously, let's not write them off simply as comedic writers. While Community may be one of the funniest shows on television, they do a phenomenal job playing serious tones too. The reason so much of the show works is because the satire hits so eerily close to source material without mugging. An incredibly out of left field choice, but I can absolutely see this working.

It's got potential to work surprisingly. The show has gotten by in the past season+ primarily on satire and they do it insanely well and there's a very thin line between quality satire and the actual source material. I think these guys could make a very good blockbuster action film based on some of their work on Community.

Sounds like a good decision. I've liked all of the recent Marvel flicks, since Iron Man 1, and if this is who they have for Cap 2, then I'll be in the theatre on opening night.

Eh, given the prosthetics/CGI involved in Red Skull's appearance, they can get away with recasting him a lot easier than most characters. I liked Weaving, but he wasn't so amazing in the part that another mask wearing, German accent faking actor can't do the part just as well if not better.
My favorite character can beat up your favorite character.

Between the two, the brothers directed the Community season 2 paintball finale. And the documentary episode detailing the Dean making a commercial for Greendale.

And they directed a bunch of episodes of Arrested Development.

You bring the Skull back as Lukin, you don't really need Weaving anyway.
The Punisher: I’m going to cauterize your rectum, sealing it shut, so when you turn those delicious Pink Pants™ Fruit Pies into waste products the bilirubin in your feces will leach into your bloodstream and you’ll die screaming! And I’ll watch while having sex with this grateful prostitute!
