One of my favourite works in comics is this. It's a gem of a story and my favourite of Bradbury's EC work.
sad to hear, what a awesome author.
Okay, before this thread this is what I knew about Tish, zip, zero, nada.
I now know that Tish is a heavily armed, black, bi-sexual, truck driving woman who likes going to the clubs.
I don't think I learned this much about Tom in six months let alone one post. - Boldido
I'm begining to like Tish more and more, that's what I know. - cable guy
"We were forced to build America, and if forced to, we will tear it down." Huey P. Newton
His EC adaptations were some of the most memerable from the EC books including "the black ferris" and my personnal fav "there will come soft rains"...
Read a lot of his work and enjoyed it. This is too bad.

A class mate turned me on to the Martian Chronicles when I was 12 or so.
But my favorite books by him later become the collection Dandelion Wine and the wonderfully creepy Something Wicked this Way comes.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

I've only read "The Illustrated Man", "Dandelion Wine", and "Something Wicked This Way Comes". All only 2 years or less ago. There were all fantastic. I'm lucky that I have more to read.
RIP MR Bradbury.

When I was in my senior year in college, I wrote a senior thesis on how science fiction could mirror social issues and situations in the time it was written. I chose three novels. Two of them were The Time Machine by H.G. Wells and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. The third? The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury.
I believe I got a pretty good grade on it, too.
Let's not also forget that Ray Bradbury had an impact on classic science fiction movies as well as literature:
It Came From Outer Space.
The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms.
Mr. Bradbury was also a great lover and supporter of the holiday of Halloween, most notably in his children's book The Halloween Tree, which was made into an animated special:
The Halloween Tree.
RIP Mr. Bradbury, you were one of the greats.

A Great Man and a Great Writer... This 2012 year is a very sad year...
RIP Ray. May The Martians give you a special place in their heart...
My condolences to the Bradbury family.
"When questioner and questioner, including youngsters, asked him how he wanted to be remembered after he died, Ray Bradbury enjoyed tossing back this response: 'You don't understand, son. When I die, you all will disappear.'"
lol
this is from today's Indianapolis Star.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is my favorite book. I'm sad he's gone.
The Martian Chronicles was my personal favorite of his works. The world has truly lost a truly great talent. He was a brilliant man and an inspiration to so many writers who came after him.

I grew up reading his work. I started with The Illustrated Man and from there read every bit of his work I could find. I'd always wished I had his talent.
Thanks Ray.
