This is the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time, and given the current state of most of DC and some of Marvel's other output, that's really saying something.
Interesting that it's saying the X-Men will stop getting along at some point.
Though looking at that particular group, I suppose no one should be surprised.
PoweR Rangers? Lmao...WTF. So the X men are the bad guys...and as usual, Storm is left out(which is good).
Sooo ... now Colossus has his own mutant power plus the power of Cyttorak and a portion of the Phoenix ... yeah, that's Marvel.
Oh sure. Fine. Strange can't be Sorcerer Supreme because he's too powerful for the plot. But MAGIK can have the Phoenix Force and that's perfectly okay.
I dont know, i think alot of us knew Hope wasnt getting it, but this, this was a bit more unexpected(i thought itd be all cyclops)
i wont judge til i actualy see how things start to turn out, could be interesting
Doesn't bother me personally, but this thread title might be a bit spoilery for folks that haven't had a chance to buy their comics yet
Now I don't think I've ever dropped a title outside of budgetary reasons, so hopefully this doesn't come off as bitter or arrogant. However, I'm close to dropping this title.
Although the concept was quite smart, I didn't like the execution of the big reveal. This may very well be 'far off' from the truth, but I think the event is ruined for me by the '5 architects rotation' approach. I think simply put, the books don't flow naturally, and the story doesn't feel continuous to me. Today I felt like the #5's purpose was to reveal the hosts. Once that was done, the rest of the pages were just filler. The Phoenix hosts said some generic and vague dialogue and then retreated.
Also, I'm sad that the Extinction Team (my favourite characters), will not be Cyclops, Namor, Emma etc. but instead some hosts with a voice that is unlike their own. The five characters will all be used for the same purpose, finishing each others sentences and what not. This whole reveal has kind of buggered Emma's position towards the Phoenix, which I used to enjoy.
But I guess what dampened the excitement for me was when the outcome was spoiled in yesterdays X-position. That might be the problem.
With that said, I'm sure this book provided a great read for most, and I hope everyone enjoys it. :)
I'll give it one more issue, hoping the change in artist revitalizes the book for me. ^^

The Phoenix Five. Sounds like a Jazz band. Reminds you of The Worthy/Mighty.
[Level 1 antagonism]
Homer: Ned Flanders, I mock your value system. You also appear foolish to the eyes of others.
Ned: Well howdy, Homer! Thanks for dropping by!
[Level 2 antagonism]
Homer: Past instances in which I professed to like you, were fraudulent.
Ned: Oh well. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks for dropping by!
[Maximum hostility factor]
Homer: I engaged in intercourse with your spouse or significant other. Now that's psychiatry!
