Default What has happened to Johnny Storm?

Johnny Storm is now part of the x-men roster. He has been missing from the book for the past months just like the rest of the underground group. Now though, he hasn't been mentioned in a single interview or an upcoming cover. When the new costume designs were announced, everyone was shown but he was absent. This could just mean they just aren't keeping him at the front of the roster with the increased focus on kitty , that there are plans for him elsewhere, or that he will just disappear entirely without explanation(just as scary as it is unlikely). I want to know if anyone knows.

Of course, but then it might also not being a kitty focused issue.

    Most likely he's either
    A)captured by the nimrods

    or

B)part of the non existent super secret new F4 thing

I'm sure Divided We Fall, United We Stand will deal with this.

Johnny most likely will be part of the Ultimates book.
Since its an ensemble book of the UU.

What is everyone saying? He's blatantly hanging out with Kitty, Bobby, James and Rogue down in the Morlock tunnels. Then when Brian Wood comes on board with DWF he'll most probably be fighting along side Bobby against the Nimrods. Then after that, who knows? I expect he'll rejoin the FF. But right now he's with Kitty. Remember? It's not like Brian Wood isn't gona give him a send off or ignore any cohesion. If he's gona leave the X-Men, he hasn't done so yet.

There isn't any real information on what is going to happen to him when there should be.

You asked what has happened, not what's going to happen. I don't think much has happened yet. He might not have been featured in any of the recent solicitations but neither have Bobby, Jimmy or Rogue.

They all appeared on the most recent cover and were featured on the costume change announcement. Johnny was not.

Ok, my mistake. I just don't think he would leave the X-Men without Spencer or Wood giving him a proper send off. I think he'll leave in the next issue. There's no way Wood will ignore the cohesion because I hear DWF is supposed to be the most cohesive event yet.

Even I'm curious as of what happen to Mr. Storm, especially since Sue is now a part of the Ultimates for a brief time.

I think Brian Wood, the current writer of Ultimate Comics: X-Men, flat out stated that he would not be using Johnny Storm in his run, which is why he wrote him out in a panel in Issue 18. He just didn't think there was a place for him in the story he wanted to tell, if I remember correctly.

Nothing wrong with that; we've got plenty of other cool characters for Wood to write about, and someday another writer will decide she or he wants to use Johnny again and bring him out of Limbo. :)

During the DWF/UWS event, Johnny returned to the series in #13, but his stay was short lived. After the team departed and left Johnny to look after the young mutants, there was a raid at the start of #14, dozens of troops went down into the Morlock tunnels and captured some of them. And then a few issues later it was shown on the News that "someone calling himself Johnny Storm" had been captured by the authorities. This happened more than six months ago and we haven't heard a thing about him since. The worst part about this is that the authorities and the News and media should know who the world famous Johnny Storm is. And then Brian Wood tells us he has no interest in continuing what is in fact another dangling plot thread. So that means Captain Britain, She-Hulk and Johnny Storm are all incarcerated and none of the writers can be bothered to explain these loose ends, no one in the UU cares about these characters, not even Sue, Johnny's sister.
