I agree with you halfway as has been discussed on other threads in that Batwoman deserves to be on JL: Dark. Her antisocial personality with other heroes to this point and her schtick of going up against supernatural baddies makes her a fit for the other team, but not JL.
    Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest

I've skipped all the sniping, this time. I hope people don't mind.

I voted no simply because Batgirl--all of them--never really fit the team mold, to me. She works well enough in the Batman Family, but she seems like she would be out of place in the Justice League. Or the Titans. Or the Outsiders. Perhaps that's why people think she doesn't work well with the Birds of Prey - she just works better as a solo character.

I like when the League is balanced with the biggest heavy hitters and a few randoms who are better POV characters for the audience.
But she doesn't add any of what you just said is important to you. Diversity? lol Please. Balanced? What does that even mean? And fun to read? What about "omg I got shot once" is fun to read??

No. DC has decided to strip every bit of skill and competence out of Barbara (the way they claim to have done for everyone, only haven't) and bust her down to an unimpressive street level cape on the rooftop. Until they let her shine again she has no role in the big leagues.

Yes, the only reason people might not want Babs in JL is because they are irrational Babsgirl haters.

There is currently one woman on the Justice League. I don't consider that diverse. The book absolutely feels like a boy's club at this point.

Balanced in terms of personality and tone. A lot of the Leaguers so far seem quite serious and direct (Superman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Batman). Babs would add more humor to the title and influence character dynamics more.

I am assuming that if she were added to the League, they'd move on from the Killing Joke stuff and not reference that at all. Johns was scheduled to write All-Star Batgirl so I am assuming he likes the character and would want to have fun writing her.

The JLA does have a long history of often having just one woman on the team. Not always, but there have been long streches where Wonder Woman or Black Canary was the only woman on the team. It's kind of ridiculous in 2012 that WW is the only female JLAer.
Batgirl has a long history in comics, and is a household name, easily one of the most famous super heroes around. I think she would add a lot to the team in terms of personality. If you can justify having Superman and Green Arrow on the same team, then there should be room for Babs.
It seems kind of sexist to me that Batgirl has never been a member of the JLA after all these years, except for the AU Barbara Gordon-Wayne Batgirl in Zero Hour.

I agree completely, but it doesn't automatically follow that Babs should get the place. Maybe when DC is over the "let's make her useless" phase she could fit in.

By the same token, has Robin ever been a member of the JL? I think the reason isn't sexism, it's the fact that Batgirl, like Robin, has usually been the preserve of the young and relatively inexperienced. The relatively inexperienced haven't a place on the top elite team.

It's not about diversity on the League. I'd love to see more women on there - but it has to be a woman who makes sense to be there. Batgirl does not, the same way Robin doesn't.

Some examples of much better female fits for the Justice League:
    Big Barda
    Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman
    Mera
    Dove (Dawn Granger)
    Grace Choi

I'm not against it down the road since i felt right now she should be working getting her game back and i rather the league have more obscure characters and non-legacy heroes so she would be at bottom of my list.

You don't need powers to be a superhero.

Facing something that is paranormal in nature is not the same as being paranormal in nature. And for the record, no, but I plan on picking up the trades.

Dick Greyson was a member of the JLA before Final Crisis, not sure if that's what you mean by Robin or not. AFAIK no one has been in the JLA while holding the Robin identity.
I'd also enjoy some of the other suggestions, like Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman, Mera, Big Barda, Power Girl, Huntress, etc.

Hey, if we're taking one of the Birds to put on the League it should be Canary. It should always be Canary. Remember, she even was the standin for Wonder Woman once. So I think we all agree, this poll should be about Black Canary
