Nah. Not sure she'd be anymore featured in the JL then she is in BoP. I think she'd be just over shadowed in the JL.

And heeeeere we go, this poll is hopelessly skewed on the bat-boards which are known for it's small cadre of Babs/Batgirl haters (no one can deny that). If this poll had been put over on the DC Comics thread I would have been much more open to trusting the results as being unbiased.
In the Nu52 universe this has some possibilities and would be a natural growing outward for Batgirl from the current version of Birds Of Prey. The more I think of it the more it would make sense to me of Batgirl leading a vigilante version of the Justice League with her own Outsiders team. Anything in terms of team books to get her from out under Duane Swierczynski's awful hackneyed writing where plot always comes before character. Under Duane BOP has cancellation written all over it in another 1-2 yrs tops.
Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest
I was talking about this exact same idea in another thread, so yes, I would love it. I think Johns and Lee would do a great job with her character and she would be a very fun, human POV-type character for the book. I think she would also fit in to the tone and dynamic of the book very well.
Actually, I can deny that because it's not true, it's just that:
1. Babs was already Batgirl
2. Babs was more powerful and useful as Oracle, whether she could walk or not
3. Babs has gotten creamed in all of her latest fight before (usually barely) winning
She's just not nearly as powerful enough to join the League, and even on BoP they had to make up what makes her special, since the 'Knock-Out' thing that you love so much barely appears in her own book.
Duane writes a better Batgirl than the actual Batgirl book, the only reason you don't like it is because she's not headlining. In the Nu52 universe this has some possibilities and would be a natural growing outward for Batgirl from the current version of Birds Of Prey. If the question was "Should Oracle join the Justice League?" I'd say fuck yes, but Babsgirl doesn't deserve JL membership over any other Bat-Family member. Seriously, Dick Grayson is the better strategist, Tim Drake is the better detective, and Cassandra Cain is the better fighter. What could Barbara possibly add to the JL other than another female caucasian red head (see Mera)?
If she were to join the team, I think it would be less of "she belongs on the team based on her powerset and abilities" and more of "she'd make the book more diverse, balanced, and fun to read." And I personally care way more about the latter.
I like when the League is balanced with the biggest heavy hitters and a few randoms who are better POV characters for the audience.
That's one of the weaker definitions of denial of a point I've seen in the past week![]()
Matter of opinion, I think he's a poor writer who cannot grasp good character interaction between characters. And I'm quoted within the past week as saying I could care less if Batgirl got less than three pages an issue on BOP, as long as they were well written one's that support her being on the BOP team, which she is still stuck and written as permanent guest-star.
Yes, Batgirl would make a great POV human character to contrast with all these near godlike Leaguers. At times she could remind them of the human perspective. Sadly Wonder Woman is STILL coming across EXACTLY the same pre-reboot as the distant from humanity godlike figure IMO. It was why I always liked Donna Troy, aka Troia, better. She was WW but also was human. So Batgirl could definitely fill in a POV role with the team. That or let her create her own Outsiders team under Batman's direction.

I agree that such diversity should be in the books. In essense, didn't Oracle belong to every team anyways? She was the personification of Google. But in the League, like full on member who goes out in missions? Isn't that like saying she is a firefighter in her secret identity? Not saying those stricken with the same situation can't make contributions to society but not in any profession. They have to work within their limitations as harsh as that sounds. I don't see the good of saying just because you're blind doesn't mean you can't be a great surgeon. When Red Arrow lost his arm, did anyone expect him to resume his League activities without a prosthetic? Sure, she might make it diverse, balanced and fun to read but it would take a huge amount of suspension to me to see her as one of the seven.
As opposed to a man who can talk to fish, another guy who's super power comes from a fashion accessory, a woman born of Zeus, and a guy who can shoot lasers out of his eyes? And it's BATGIRL joining that would be the straw breaking the back of your suspension of disbelief?

Absolutely not.
She isn't even close to being ready(Nu52) to even being considered.

"Why not? It's my boat."
I'm fine with Batgirl joining, but I think others like Hawkman, the Atom, Green Arrow, or Martian Manhunter should be in the DCnU Justice League first.
With great power comes great...aw heck with it, you know the drill.
Sure they can. Maybe there's one or two people here who are completely opposed to Babsgirl in general, but that doesn't explain the very few 'yes' votes in the poll. I mean, I voted no, but I don't consider myself a hater. I'm cool with Babs in BoP, I just don't think she'd be a good fit in the JLA.
How is it? Personally, I prefer Babs as Batgirl. But the bottom line is that she was more effective and powerful as Oracle.
