Still haven't jumped onto Seeley's run yet. I was a fan of Marz' run an bought it sporatically, but now that its done, I went back and got EVERYTHING (incl, first born, broken trinity, artifacts + the oneshots involved) and I'm just now working through War of the Witchblades. Though I still have a ways to go, I am calling it right now as one of my overall favorite runs on a comic. I'm tempted to read Seeley's run out of the love that Marz's run instilled in me of Sarah, but I don't want to buy it just to buy it. These trades priced the way they are, though, are great way to get into a comic. The $5 trade of Marz's first issues are what got me hooked in the first place and while Top Cow still needs to make money on trades, not just singles, I think this is a really great way to market a book. Light week in comics? Seriously, you could do worse than a $10 trade...
I like that Seeley freely admits things he feels he messed up on and could have done better--the whole "assless chaps in the middle of a Chicago winter" thing nearly pulled me out of the story--makes me respect the writer more and it shows that they're always keeping a critical eye on their work and shows that they'll only get better in the future.
Overall, I'm really liking Seeley's take on the book--even if I'll miss her armored suit look.
Very groovy stuff, hell yes.
DROKK IT!!
I think Seeley's run has been decent so far. Bernard brings a bit more cheesecake (or maybe it was just less noticeable with Stepjan's painterly style?), but is doing a good job too. I'm not entirely sold on the rebirth of the universe so far, but it's worked out pretty nicely for Witchblade.
I've really been loving Seeley and Bernard's run on this book.
Always remember this stuff isn't real.
