Welcome to the DCU: New Dawn! A creative and interactive fantasy football styled game where the DC Universe is placed into the hands of you, its fans both long time and new. At its origins, a group of plotters convened and drafted characters, writers and artists, bringing them together in titles that sated their appetites, tickled their fancy and will (hopefully) pique your interest. To the relaunch weary worry not! This is not an actual division of DC Comics’ line, but a fun activity that anyone can take part in!
Listed below are the solicits our plotters have provided for this month. Like any good comic book store (or digital shopping web page, this is the 21st century!) you have the chance to peruse and purchase any title you like. Of course, we don't accept cash, debit or credit...because all of the books are free! The prices are there to give you an idea of what to build your budget around. While we would appreciate you buying all of the books, try to play this as if using your own monthly budget. Be sure to check out which of your favourite characters are featured in these stories by looking at our older overview page and our creator's discussion thread.

Books have been divided into four categories: the Dawn of the Braves (super heroes), the Dawn of the Damned (vigilantes and anti-heroes), Dawn of the Forgotten (mystical, magical, space and science adventures) and Dawn of the Universe (space related). Post your selected titles under the simple heading DoB, DoD , DoF and DoU. At the end of April purchasing will be closed the purchases will be tallied. Books that receive low purchase numbers may be put on the chopping block as decided by our plotters and, of course, you dear readers.

The Hoarder, was once a 700 pound man who couldn't move from his bed for years. Thanks to an experimental drug, and team of personal trainer he is now a mass of muscle and obsession. His world has become a compulsion of excessive acquisition and his obsession is Batman. Over the years he has obtained: discarded utility belt cartridges, dried pieces of Clayfaces, a Two-face coin, dried blood of Batman, dried cement with tire threads of the Batmobile, hundreds of file footage of Batman and his latest acquisition is the Joker crowbar used to kill Jason Todd. His home is dark dingy maze of boxes, books, toys and cages for his pet bats. He still wants the ultimate prize..the Batman. There is a "new" vigilante in Gotham and he looks just like Batman, but he acts like someone a lot darker yet somehow familiar. The Ventriloquist's bones have been shattered and his dummy is now just hundreds of scattered wood-chips. He was just the first in a long line of this Batman's victims. Vengeance, justice and torture is not nearly enough.

Looks like Dawn of Brave and the Batman titles are kicking a$$ this month. I had to give the Braves my vote this month, but I agree the Dawn of the Forgotten is a very worthy and creative line.
