Default Wolverine #307 - The Horror continues!

Anyone else reading the return of Dr. Rot in Wolverine? Shades of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre abound, but lest we forget we are reading a super-hero comic, we are introduced to the new God Brain Machine. Dr. Rot is such a great villain. Why didn't he always exist?

I really liked this issue a lot. The art work was fun, the story was sick and Dr.Rot is a GREAT villain for Wolverine. I love that he only wants ot cut him up so he can do it all over again. It's very dark, but in such a cooky way. Great stuff! Makes me sad that Bunn will just get this one arc before we get Loebs Sabretooth nonsense.
    Wanda Maximoff is a joke!

The police who questioned Rachel and Kitty have moved on from the Jean Gray School, so we get no more cameos from them. I'm guessing those police are going to hope that Rachel and Kitty, or anybody guest stars next issue.

Comics code isn't too crazy about mass murderers harvesting brains out of victims. He couldn't have existed in his full brutality prior to that, about ten years ago, at least.

Dr. Rot is quickly growing on me. He gives me a definite Desty Nova vibe, which is a very good thing.

I might be wrong but I believe Bunn is coming back after Loeb's arc. I hope so, as I'm really enjoying his stuff so far. This arc is hardcore.

Not to be too critical of a new writer getting his time to shine, but this story feels like it's treading around in circles on ground that's already been trampled. I'm hoping Bunn will push the runt further next story.

If Wolverine is Marvel's top character, then why isn't his solo book the best selling?

because his own book is horrible and he got popular from past stories?

I don't think Wolverine is Marvel's top character these days, if he ever was. Spider-man seems like their top character, and now I'd probably put the core four Avengers characters in front of him too due to the success of the movie (Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Thor).

So Wolverine's book is probably not a top priority for them at the moment.

I think wolverine is still marvel's most popular character but Marvel is concentrating more on Avengers due to not having movie rights to wolverine. Though if you notice Wolverine is in the avengers too. Coincidence? I just think his own comic is simply horrible to read otherwise it would be higher in sales. Which could also be on purpose, marvel trying to hurt his popularity to make him less bankable as a movie star so they can then get his rights back cheaply. Might also explain why he does dumb stuff in the comics like try to kill Hope.

Why isn't Spider-man, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, or Thor Marvel's best selling book? Why is UXM, which doesn't have any of those characters, the top selling book?
