I thought Wade was constantly fighting a virulent form of cancer, and that's why his healing factor could do nothing for his face/scarred body. Wrong, or what happened with that?
I think it's a little early to say that won't be addressed. Here's a theory, though: basically, Deadpool has been genetically reset. You have to remember that the DNA sample was pre-cancer, pre-Deadpool. This would also mean that the same stuff would work the other way if you make it with a mutated sample of his DNA. Let's face it, it's the kind of thing SHIELD, the Weapon program, or anything like AIM or HYDRA would collect for research. He leaves it everywhere.
If this is true, then he's probably going to be changed back against his will.
And on that day, sales will double (depending on who it is). Personally, I like his writing and he's really stepped up his game as of late but a lot of people were turned off by his approach to certain things. It can be hard to shake that kind of stigma."There is an end in sight. Plans are in motion for me to transition away, but that's going to be quite awhile as far as publication time is concerned."
Joe Kelly would be awesome. I can think of some others. I'd actually like someone who's never tackled Deadpool before to give it a shot, preferably a long-time fan.
I really don't get all the Way hate when it comes to Deadpool. I've really enjoyed his entire run and its miles above any of that spin-off crap they kept putting out for awhile.

Initially I thought this was a bad idea, but after thinking about it for a minute, it's probably a wise decision. There have been enough invincible-Deadpool stories told, and there are only so many quality tales that you can tell with that premise. Mark Waid did a great mini early on writing Deadpool as a dimensional character (as opposed to just "crazy"), and it worked.
Besides, if another writer wants to take things back in a Kelly-ish direction, it would be easy to create a comical three-panel deus-ex to restore him: the loss of his healing factor was all a hallucination! If he never gets killed, there's no way to know that he can't die.
EDIT: How will this change affect X-Force?

I agree. As a matter of fact, he's gone out of his way to not make this series just about gags. You actually have to turn on your 8th grade reading skills, or some of the finer points will go over your head. I guess bias against something is hard to shake off even if something is objectively good.
I hate Daniel Way so much. I honestly have no idea how he lasted anywhere near this long. He is not funny. He is not original. And he is NOT talented. GET THIS HACK AWAY FROM DEADPOOL!!!
It's like having Jeph Loeb write "Before Watchmen".

I thought Way did a good job with Deadpool during Wolverine: Origins, but I have been a little disappointed with this current Deadpool run. I like Zeb Wells during his run with Avenging Spider-Man, so maybe he could take over. I am new to comics, so if that last comment seemed dumb...that is why.
I'm really liking this Shawn Crystal cat on art.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.
