An issue that has my mind split right down the middle. Slightly disappointed in it, but probably mostly because last issues reveal was so amazing.

I am seriously pissed off that Amara and Mephisto break up OFF PANEL. Talk about anticlimactic. Seriously, they have an entire issue dedicated to these two dating, and we don't even get to see Amara lay it down on him? And they spent the last 10 issues writing Bobby as pathetically jealous, but he doesn't even acknowledge the breakup/Mephisto's presence period.

I can only hope that these nefarious 'plans' Mephisto had that were broken leads to an awesome Amara plotline. And that Dani will be mysteriously ill for the duration of that arc, because I'm sick of her face.

BUT I liked Dani standing up for women. And I liked the crossover as a whole. Way more enjoyable than the past issues have been, recently.

It's another clue that Amara has left the building and Alison is in charge these days.

This issue was a fabulous end to a great crossover. The Disir and Sigurd got what they deserved, and I can't imagine that Hela is going to go easy on Bor.

While this was the perfect ending to a truly great crossover, I can't help but feel like it's over far too quickly. I crave more. It's really a shame. The next arc with the Defenders doesn't look like it'll be able to match the standard set by this at all, and I'm not looking forward to the return of the regular artists, but at least I now have some level of faith in DnA's potential competence.

I do hope this isn't the last of Mephisto. Having him as a lurking presence in Amara's life could be an interesting dynamic. I'm sure he makes for a rather tenacious ex-boyfriend. Having Loki as a recurring guest would also be a huge improvement, especially over Blink. Seems doubtful for now though.

Could be why when she found out what Mephisto was using them for why the break up. But yeah, they should have given it room to breath instead of a small panel of her yelling about him not taking them to Hel.

Either way, good story. I seriously wish they'd just keep Dani having the ability to call on her Valkyrie powers all the time. She looks sweet in that armor.

With Legacy and WatXM having turned out quite meh, this was the best X-book by far this week. A very fun and enjoyable read through and through, I liked how the plot was wrapped up. In retrospect, the entire event was very nicely paced. And getting to see Bor and Sigurd suffer is another big plus.

I guess this just shows that once you put a competent writer on new mutants, and use interesting characters instead of the new mutants, it can be pretty good!

Going to have to pick this one up tomorrow as JMS's Thor run is a treasured favorite. Can't lie, the idea of a planet-cracker like Bor being jobbed out to Dani Frickin' Moonstar does not fill me with mirth

He didn't job to Dani, he turned tail and ran from a pack of invincible soul destroying cannibal zombie valkyries that like sharks are drawn to blood while he was bleeding.

Granted at the end he did job to Hela, but battle wise all anyone did was nick him, which was just enough.
