who here thinks they should re-introduce the phantasm in the new 52?

That's like saying it wouldn't matter if Superman wasn't Clark Kent but some random dude with the same costume and general appearance. The only reason anybody would like to see a Phantasm is because that was just an incredibly well done story.

with the mystery gone and the character just being some chick using a blade and smoke to mess with bad guys....i doubt people would be that interested in the phantasm

because the reason the phantasm was so good was because of the mystery around the character and how it's powers seemed supernatural in nature...

but what point would Andrea Beaumont serve in the new 52? what could she do that batwoman batgirl or hell even night couldn't do she doesn't have powers and her weapons aren't that great her illusions are what gave her an edge against common criminals

and i meant mystery as in is this character just some somebody in a costume do they really have powers caused by science or something magical or is it just all a show and nothing more

actualy for me and many people that ive talked to, we all beleived that it was andrea's Father
and they really wanted us to beleive that too as the first kill by the phantasm is done before andrea gets to Gotham, and she gets to gotham by plane so she seemed to have been coming from far off

consider this, the reapers identity has had 2 possibly 3 persons using it, and all the storys with the reaper have been great

i always thought that was a pretty cool character and it's a shame they never built upon it after the movie

maybe they could make one in the comics that's actually a real phantom and you could say the woman in mask of the phantasm based her costume off this urban legend

Andrea returned in the final Justice League episode (I think) that was actually more of an end-cap to Batman Beyond. She was hired by Amanda Waller as a hitman to kill Terry McGinnis's parents as part of their Batman Beyond project, but Andrea balked arguing it went against Batman stood for as she confronted Amanda Waller after.

I wouldn't be against them having a new female anti-hero called The Phantasam in the nu 52. Batwoman needs some allies/foils!

look if the phantasm was in the new 52 it would be in batwoman(due to the whole urban legend/supernatural theme)and i can't see how andrea beaumont could tackle what kate kane does on a daily basis
