Default What's your favorite single issue?

Single issues are what comic reading is all about. I don't think I'd really be into it so much if it wasn't for the anticipation of an awesome issue. So because this is the Ultimate forum, what's your favorite single Ultimate issue? I've seen plenty of solid issues in my past few months as an Ultimate fan so I figured it'd be interesting.

Mine's an easy one, as it's pretty much the reason I started this thread.. to say how awesome I thought this issue was.

As soon as I read it in trade I had to get my hands on the back issue. It's on it's way to my house now. Bendis came up with such an awesome idea with this one. He got to celebrate a great character while showing off that he had in a way made him his own, and he got to tell a clip show-like story in a really cool way. Iron Man, Cap, and Thor are all very different people, so it's great how their memories and stories literally and metaphorically paint unique pictures by using different writer and artist combos for the "clip show".

My runner up is Ultimates 1 #1

    Toss up b/t Ultimate X-Men #1 or #6.
    1) Find a bad guy
    2) Be Wolverine
Ultimate Wolverine is coming back, sort of!

That surprises me, I don't think I've ever seen you put a single issue up there with Spider-Man # 122

It might just be that I haven't read it in a while. It could be because the number of quality pro-feminism comics are dwindling these days. It could be that I'm on an X-Men kick. Not really sure which one is causing it.

This issue and almost specifically this panel. I've read Ultimate Comics since their inception but nothing made my spine shiver more than the idea of "Spider-Man" being bigger than Peter Parker. Through Sara's exceptional art we see how clumsy this new kid is, we see a world reacting to a Spider-Man who came on the scene almost immediately after the previous one was murdered. When Miles' face was revealed, he was just some, dumb kid. He looked like a snotty 13-year old. Nothing was more inspiring in the UU than that moment for me. It may be silly but it kinda made me feel like I have a purpose. Just a fantastic issue. Not to mention all the glorious setup for the new UU.

I like how you stick with the pro femenism thing even though you get ragged on for it on the forums. Way to be brotha(or sister, I don't know)

Yeah, Ultimate Fallout was the first Ultimate series I read after checking out the last couple issues in the death of spidey. I was already emotionally invested after seeing Peter Parker's death, and Fallout #4 was the one I kept rereading. It had the cool little spidey's first adventure story that's a staple in any origin book, and I loved it. It also had two other stories that would set up the SHTF scenario that was on the way in the UU. I ordered the back issue just to have it in my collection.

lol I'm a guy. Thanks though. I stick with my beliefs no matter what the response is. I'll explain it all someday. Probably next year once I've settled from the move.

Absolutely my favorite issue, without question.

I also liked the one where Spider-Man and Wolverine switched bodies. I don't remember which issue that was, but I think it was an issue of Ultimate X-Men.

(Someone jumps in with the correct answer in 3...2....1....)

how many single issues have there been now? I think this calls for a series of polls........

I can't remember off hand, maybe Ultimates #5 or #12. I know the one I was most excited for coming out, Ultimatum #5
