Which Jean thread has the CC bit about her blowing up a planet as a form of masturbation?

Fun fact: that basically summarizes my first post on CBR, and I was nearly driven off by Beast and Worstblogever.

It was handled better with Ultimate Jean. In her case, the alien planets committed mass suicide when she flew by. Suicide is an act of consent. 616 Jean forced herself on her victims.

No idea, really. I only noticed he was gone when Beast the character started to become popular again. Respond to my PM!

Interesting comments up Jean and Phoenix being separate here.

I love that CC actually hates this version of Jean and was going to incorporate getting rid of it into the X-Men narrative. So really, Jean fans supporting this Phoenix/Jean/Goddess cult are basically spitting in Claremont's face. LOLOLOL

“She denies it,” Claremont answered in The X-Men Companion. “She says “No! Get thee from me, Phoenix!” And the idea is, it is better to be human than it is to be a wrathful goddess.”

He went to the Avenger boards, as he seems to be more of a fan of Agents of Atlas.

Claremont doesn't say he hates it at all. It is interesting that he uses the lingo of the times to refer to it as "a trip."

Must be all that wisdom tempered with age. After reading those two articles, it seems that in his younger days working for Marvel he would have acted much more rashly and been far more outspoken, considering at one point he almost quit Marvel over resurrecting Jean for X-Factor had it not been for a co-worker.

Stick to the actual text instead of rambling on about whatever comics trivia you picked up when you used to read comics.

That interview is why I've always wanted Jean to survive DFP, instead of the hackjob Shooter forced.
