Top Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Platoon,
So, you don't like black costumes, and you don't like costumes with primary colours?
Are you a big fan of the classic green/purple villain look?
Taking the Avengers for example, because it's Marvel's biggest thing at the moment, I'm looking at the covers for #1 -3 and the majority of the characters have colourful costumes (Cap, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Captain Marvel, Falcon, Wolverine and Cannonball. Even Thor has a GIANT RED CAPE)
Then if we go to the X-Men side of things, two of the biggest things on their side look like this
and this
Heck, look at the Mike Allred issue that you hated, that one of the most vibrant comics in years.
Oh, one more. Marvel's most critically acclaimed comic?

Continued from my last post.
DC's biggest news at the moment in Justice League of America, which looks like this.
Yeah, there's some black there, but if you ignore the THIEF, SPY and NINJA who have no business being bright, then you've got a pretty colourful team of greens, golds and blues.
I won't go on anymore, but I will just mention how the Green Lantern franchise for the past five years has literally been about all the colours of the rainbow.
I don't understand how this is a criticism. Do you look at old Stan and Jack FF's and go 'Oh no, there's too much blue going on here?'
If you don't want to see a lot of red, blue, yellow, green and black, I don't know what else you're after. Can you give me an example, because I'm at a loss.
This is another tangent. None of the Marvel images I posted have muted colours though. Immonen's new colourist has been criticized for going too heavy with the colours and Wolverine and the X-Men and Daredevil are two of the most colourful books Marvel publish. In fact, look at Avengers Assemble promo shot for the cartoon. Dem muted colors.
As Kerny said, David Finch. The point wasn't whether it was grimy and muted though, the point was that there's too much black in modern superhero costumes, which I've pointed out with evidence, isn't the case.
