I've been chased away by the art on WW, Animal Man and Swamp Thing. I grew up reading Marvel and I guess I just have an idea stuck in my head of what a comic should look like. I'm sure I'll get over it at some point, but it's definitely been a sticking point.

Well it's a slow week for new DC books, so now might be a good time to get caught up.

Hey everyone, I didn't take the time to sit and read through all of the comments posted in this thread so far, so excuse me if I'm going off topic somewhat here, but I just finished reading through the new Green Lantern vol. 1: Sinestro book. It is the first of 10 New 52 collections that I have purchased online, and as a new comic book fan I will say that I enjoyed it very much. The art in the book was really good I thought, and the story held my attention. I might've enjoyed the book more if I were already familiar with some of the characters (Arsona, Starstorm, Lyssa Drak), but because of the way the dialogue was written I was able to understand what was going on, and received just enough backstory so that I didn't really have any "Huh?" moments.

Even though I am new to comic books, and I am still familiar with many of the characters, Hal Jordan being one of them. I thought it was really neat to start reading this comic in a place where Jordan is not the Green Lantern, and instead is trying to regain what was once his. Sinestro was awesome in this book, and I feel like the writer, Geoff Johns, did a great job of making me root for the guy one second, then making me want to see him have his ass handed to him the next.

I look forward to what the future holds in this series, and I look forward to getting started in other comic book series as well. I think I will read Wonder Woman vol. 1: Blood next, followed by Detective Comics vol. 1, Batman vol. 1, Batman: The Dark Knight vol. 1, Superman vol. 1, Action Comics vol. 1, Flash vol. 1, Aquaman vol. 1, and Justice League vol. 1.
