Default Ending of Ultimates 3 in Retrospect

So I finished Ultimate X-men #12 and it got me thinking about how long Apocalypse has been influencing events in the UU. Correct me if I am wrong as it has been awhile since I read Ultimates 3, but Pietro fakes his own death at the end which directly leads to the events in Ultimatum where it is revealed in the last panel that ghost Wanda has been pulling his strings. I kinda assumed that he faked his death at the instruction of his returned sister (a big assumption I know). Does that mean Pietro has been under the influence of Apocalypse since the events of Ultimates 3? Is Ultimatum indirectly his fault? Thoughts?

My theory: Loeb had no idea what he was doing. He saw the name Pietro and thought "hey he was a villain, right?" and just went with it. Also: Doom. Wtf.
"Predictable? If there were any more plot twists going on, we'd need M. Night Shyamalan to randomly appear at the end saying 'What a twist' before vanishing". - Kurolegacy on Ult X-Men #8.

EDIT: Didn't know about his kid. Apologies.

Under Spencer's pen, maybe. Under Loeb's, who knows. We may never find out what Loeb's plans were

I couldn't find the clip , but here's the quote anyway.

"You know, I know a few techniques that could help you manage that anger very effectively."

Just imagine that part from the film as an embedded video.

    1. Cancer is a serious thing not to be thrown around like you just did.
    2. I've had two people in MY family killed by cancer.
    3. Jeph Loeb's son died from bone cancer.

I'm not caring for most of his Marvel work either, but that's a pretty shitty thing to say. Especially with what happened to Loeb's kid.

I didn't know about his son. Sorry about your family, I've lost family to cancer as well, however, it's still a valid analogy to make. The exaggeration is the point. It was just inappropriate in this case.

Again, I didn't know. Sorry guys. I'm really not Internet-mean-guy.

Cool. I was hoping you didn't know about the kid and weren't just mean-spirited. But that was a bad coincidence!

My condolences to you and your family.

You could have used virus. It spreads and bad things happen. You just don't always die from it. Also he himself is not what you have a problem with, it's his Ultimate Marvel work. Everyone makes a bad product from time to time. Eminem's Relapse album would be a perfect example.

Yeah I was just being pissy. I gotta say though, I really enjoy "My Mom" and "Insane". I can't really listen to it frequently but there's some scary shit in those songs.

Yeah actually a post of mine was deleted two days ago because I directly called Loeb a moron. Apparently I can say all I want about his work but I cannot insult him personally.

The ironic thing about that though is that The Ultimates 1 and 2 were one of his favourite books. And then Loeb ruined all the characters.

It definitely seems like a possibility. Personally, I really hope so. It wouldn't fix Ultimatum by any means, but it would at least make a bit more sense.

I had actually asked myself this same question last year when I read Ultimate Fallout #5 for the first time. They've been hinting about Apocalypse returning for a LONG time.
