When and why does Cap wear his Super Soldier costume?

When Steve first "died" Bucky became the new Captain America. When Steve returned, he allowed Bucky to continue being Cap and wore a different outfit (which he largely used in Secret Avengers). Once Bucky died (he didn't really die either), Cap went back to wearing his regular Cap suit.

Thanks guys another reason why I asked is that I wanted to buy a Cap shirt and I thought the super soldier shirt looked nice. But I wanted to know about it before I bought it

Its an awesome costume in my opinion! the new Nick Fury Jr. is going to be wearing it now I think in comics. But hell I say rock it! not the traditional shirt but still awesome!

He was wearing it like civilian clothes even after he took back the Cap suit, but I guess that's over now that Fury Jr is wearing it.


Cap has a history of handing down his old, temp costumes. Nomad, USAgent, FuryJr, all wearing Cap's redesigns.
