You missed the 60s Spider-Man series and the 80s Spidey series (the one that wasn't "Amazing Friends." The 80s series also had the first animated appearance of Black Cat.)

I can understand missing the 80s series because it was overshadowed by Amazing Friends, but missing the 60s series?
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

I'm sorry that I never watched The Spectacular Spider-Man. This new show is utter crap. I try to watch it each week but can't get through an episode before I'm compelled to stop my DVR and delete it. I know it's aimed at younger kids, but I don't even think I would have like it as a child. I think I may get the DVDs of Spectacular and check it out.

Is SSM available online anywhere? Netflix?

Spectacular was a better show. Although that doesn't mean it was any more appealing to kids than Ultimate.

I don't know how you can have Spider-Man Unlimited above even MTV Spider-Man, I really liked Unlimited as a kid, except for its depictions of Carnage and Venom, but upon discovering old issues and summaries of 2099 I weep that they decided to do Unlimited instead of a adaption of Spiderman 2099. Cruddy animation on MTV aside, it at least usually told a story.

personally I dont care about neither of those cartoon

Ultimate spider-man is the worst spiderman cartoon ever created is a insult to any spider-man fan.

Spider-man: The Animated Series is the best spider-man cartoon imo

    Spectacular. No contest.

Spectacular is an absolute love letter to Spider-Man. It knew the stories and ways to progress everything. You could tell it was being made by diehard Spider-Man fans who wanted to go to bigger and better place.
Ultimate Spider-man is made by a bunch of sitcom writers who go "Hey! Wouldn't it be funny if we ___________". They reduce Spider-Man to just the comedy with no heart, and even the jokes run flat. It's the biggest example of what's wrong with certain writers, they don't get what makes franchises unique and instead focus on the silly and whacky. See New Avengers currently and Wolverine and the X-Men.

It pains me that Spectacular was canceled. It's even more painful to see how the newest show completely misses everything that makes Spider-Man great and ignores the actual Spider-Man cast. It's going to be infuriating when Ultimate Spider-Man gets more episodes than Spectacular Spider-Man.

Seriously, Ultimate Spider-Man is what happens when the wrong people take over a cartoon and are too stubborn to admit the problems!

Pretty much. It felt so good experiencing the brief period where both BatB and SSM were cranking out new episodes, feeling happy that two of my favorite heroes had such kick-ass shows on the air.

Brave and the Bold also did something that Ultimate Spider-Man should be doing, showcasing the Marvel U. I know they have the team, but this was their chance to show off all the other heroes. They could have made it a Spider-Man team up show, where every episode he's with a new hero. That would have been an incentive to keep viewers to guess who's gonna show up next. But from the looks of it, it'll just be Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye....yawn.

Not to mention that BatB actually dug VERY deep into the DC Universe, featuring characters that would be too obscure to be featured in any other TV show ever again, and even did some cool takes on Batman's Rogue's Gallery, both iconic and unknown. USM just seems content rehashing many characters and villains already seen in EMH (even recycling designs from that show and the films), while still not offering even enough Spidey villains to change it up. I mean, the only Spidey villain fought was a lousy version of Venom? Twice?!
