This story is looking surelly more that just a story arc featuring Lizard just because of the new Spidey movie,thats for sure.
I think it is interesting that this story which look kind of a horror story from the covers is similiar to the first story featuring Morbius in ASM which was sort of a horror comic book story as well.

I think they should try to connect it to the movie. What a missed opportunity that would be. Even with Morbius on the covers, people will know that it has the Lizard in it. And everyone deserves to see enjoy Morbius as much as his fans do

Wait, if this is kinda a call-back to Morbius's first story, what if he dies in this one? If he dies and something happens to Conners, it may just make Peter snap, especially if something else happened.

And Amazing Spider-Man by having the Lizard is already sort of a connection to the new Spidey movie.

I dont know if this story is a homage to the classic six armed Spider-Man story arc,it does looks like that to me.Because it looks more of sort of a horror story and features as well Lizard and Morbius.Could be just a coincidence.
After all Morbius have been apearing from some time in ASM,since he was revealed to be the secret scientist in Horizon Lab.
I wonder as well of the important development that will happen in ASM#691 is related to Morbius,at the same time Morbius have never been that much of a important character in the Spider-Man stories.So that development in issue 691 could be related to something else.

I think the important development is either for Conners or MJ or Doc Ock.

As much as I love Morbius, he works best as someone who causes the bad stuff to happen than for it to happen to. However, that doesn't mean he's safe from being knocked off. I think if Doc Ock tries to have Peter mercy kill him, it's going to make the death of anyone, including someone like Morbius, that much harder for Peter.
