Default Any Superman experts? I could use some help...

Hello all, this is my first post on CBR and I was hoping for a little bit of help. A few years ago I was in a Library and I came across a Superman comic that I had never seen before, it stuck with me, so much so that I went back several times to try and find it again but all my trips back to that library have come up empty as has all attempts to use google lol. I don't have the best memory but here are the details I remember from that issue:

-I don't believe the villain in the issue was one of the usual members of Superman's rogue gallery (Toyman, Lex, etc.) but I could be wrong.

-The villain had defeated Superman in Metropolis and the issue featured a time skip

-The villain had some kind of armored battle suit

-It showed an older Lois and Jimmy and reformed Lex.

-Jimmy was chronicling what had happened after Superman had been beaten.

-Superman had been trapped under the Earth's crust or in a volcano and over a period of time (years) had adapted to absorbing that as energy to fuel his abilities.

-I remember Lois commenting on how painful such an exsistence must have been for Superman.

I know it's not much to go on but if you guys could be of any help with either the name of the villain or an issue number/ arc name, anyything that might point me in the right direction and I would be forever grateful.

    Thank you.

I believe the issue in question is Superman #658. This took place during the first half of Kurt Busiek's Camelot Falls storyline. If you can find it, it would be worth getting both volumes of the collected story. It's pretty good IMO.

The villain was Khyber, an original creation made by Kurt Busiek and Carlos Pacheo.

I wonder if we'll get to see Khyber again... The character had a lot of potential, IMO.

Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.

Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.

Outside of a brief appearance in "Trinity", I don't know. It is possible if a writer takes a shine to him.
