Doctor Who? Doctor.... Who!!?!
Its supposed to have a dry and satirical edge that borders on self-parody, yes. At least thats the feeling I got from it what with the Xmen homage comic and the YB PR at stuff at the start..
I thought it was okay. I liked the art for the most part. Reletivly simple, bold and bright. Although there were some serious issues with inconsistant colouring and in some cases complete change of attire and character design, particularly in the change over from Malin to Liefeld. Hopefully this improves as time goes on.
The writing wasnt amazing either. Not bad but a few awkward moments and i kinda expected more from a screenwriter.
Still i think it was a fun book. Ill check out #2, uh... #72.
That won't be an issue moving forward. If I'm understanding how things happened correctly, some of the pages were done before I came on board as the colorist and for whatever reason were never corrected. Jon and I will be the solo art team moving forward, so you'll see a very consistent look from here on out.
Ah okay, good to know. As said i really liked the art for the most part but it was held back by these really obtrusive flaws. If theyre sorted for future issues then s'all good :)
Bumping this thread because I'm still trying to figure out how they came up with 70 prior issues of Youngblood. The above doesn't really work because I don't think there were actually 14 issues of Volume 2. Everything I've seen has the numbering jumping from 10 to 14, meaning there would only be 11 issues in that volume, bringing the actual total for the above to 67. Can anybody confirm the existence of issues #11-13? Also, I don't think there were 11 issues of Volume 4, but only 9, again bringing the total down to 65.
We could then pad it out with the zero issue, 2 issues of Genesis, and 1 issue each of Bloodsport & Imperial (those were ostensibly ongoings or maxi-series, but just never made it that far). That gets us to 70. However it ignores things like the Yearbook, Battlezone, the Super Special, Extremely Youngblood, et al. So all these months later, has anybody been able to crack this nut and deduce the 70 issues they're counting?
My best guess:
Team Youngblood: 22 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...blood_1993.htm
Youngblood (1st series): 11 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...blood_1992.htm
Youngblood (2nd series): 11 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...blood_1995.htm
Youngblood (3rd series): 2 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...blood_1998.htm
Youngblood (4th series): 9 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...blood_2008.htm
Youngblood Strikefile: 11 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...efile_1993.htm
Youngblood Genesis: 2 issues - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...nesis_2003.htm
Youngblood Super Special: 1 issue - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...ecial_1997.htm
Youngblood: Imperial: 1 issue - http://weirdspace.info/AmericanComic...erial_2004.htm
Bloodsport and Extremely Youngblood are not in continuity and the two issues of Battlezone are not regular comics but pin-ups and bios.
