Default Rob Liefeld Takes Aim At "Youngblood" #71

Creator Rob Liefeld explains why he couldn't stay away from his original Image creation as he teams with "Black Swan" writer John McLaughlin and artist Jon Malin for a twisted team in "Youngblood" #71.

Great restart of the series,Jon Malin is a breath of fresh air in the glum dark muddy area marvel is in. Being a fan of his from way back and seeing his growth as an artist is inspiring. John McLaughlin has me intrigued as to how hes going to intergrate the previous story of the missing White House and see how it all unfolds. This was the series relaunch Ive been most excited about and while Prophet,Glory and Supreme all are great,YB itches that scratch Ive been missing since the 90s.

The new artist does a really good job of using Liefeld's style. I'm not a big fan, though. I just hope that Liefeld gives the creative team enough room to tell their story on their own terms.

Being the OCD freak I am, I came up with this as far as how they got to #71:

Youngblood (1992- 1st series) #1-10 (there is a number 0 in there as well)
    Team Youngblood (1993) #1-22
    Youngblood Strikefile (1993) #1-11
    Youngblood (1995- 2nd series) #1-14
    Youngblood (1998- 3rd series) #1-2
    Youngblood (2008- 4th series) #1-11

That should add up to 70 (not counting the #0 issue).

Although Liefeld specifically stated they were counting all annuals and one-shots which would take them well...passed...71...
    ????

I can't wait to pick this up. The art looks fantastic and the story sounds very interesting. The whole Extreme Relaunch has been amazing and leaves me wanting more.

I've missed Youngblood terribly over the years. Reminds me of good times. =)

You should read more Marvel comics. Death means nothing there and people come back from the dead all the time.

The only time death usually means something is when the comic doesn't have Marvel or DC on the cover. I don't understand why those two companies still hype character deaths like it means anything, do they think comic readers are idiots?

Of course, maybe they are doing the same thing I am and looking at the top 100 comic sales each month to see all the terrible comics that outsell so many fantastic comics and DO think comic readers are idiots...
