That's because video games are always in long-term development, and don't necessarily coincide with what takes place in the main properties.

I'm still a little annoyed that they had to go with Lego Batman instead of Lego Superheroes. It would've been nice to see Metropolis or Paradise Island in Lego format. Not to mention, we've seen all the villains before (sans Luthor) in the original Lego Batman. No Cheetah? No Ocean Master? No Parasite? I know there's a few bonus villains, but it's still frustrating.

The first Lego Batman game is a true classic to me, when I got it along with my Xbox 360 it was the only game that I had for a while (much like Mario when you got an NES back in the 80's) so I played the hell out of it and beat it about 5x. I've since begun playing it again and finally finished it for what will probably be the last time for a long time since I'll now have the 2nd game to play within the next couple of months. I'm hoping that Lego Batman 2 will be even half as fun as the first one was, the original is one of those games that 20 years from now I'll remember as being a key game in this era of video gaming (it was that important to me).
