2011 Venom Trade Paperback vs comics
I bought 17 and 18 venom and enjoyed them enough to go back and get them from the beginning. The only trade paperback they have out now is 1-5 for 12 bucks. It seems like I could do much better than that just buying the back issues in a set on eBay. Even most of the individuals are selling for only a few cents more than that cost. What is the general thought?

Here's the breakdown: The first volume covering issues 1-5 is available in hardcover and paperback. The second storyline is a Spider Island tie-in, and issues 6-9 are reprinted in the Spider Island hardcover (the main one, not the "Companion"). Issues 10-14, the "Circle of Four" storyline, are printed in the hardcover of the same name, due out tomorrow. Note that the CoF book also contains the four 13.X issues, when the book ran weekly for a month. The "Savage Six" hardcover is listed by Amazon to be out before the end of the year, as is the paperback edition of Spider Island.

Wow, thanks for that breakdown. Very helpful. Given how close the back issues would be in price to the trade paperbacks, which way would you suggest to go? The Circle of Four looks to be a bit better per issue value.

Couldn't tell you that. I get everything in hardcover, regardless.

If you go to re-read a certain story do you reach for the hardcover or comics?

I don't keep the comics after I get the hardcover. They go up on eBay. LOL. Told you I'm the wrong guy to ask.

I go for Hardcover, easier to read.
