There's six apparently. I won't know for sure until after I've seen the film. I'm not reading it without seeing the film first!

I browsed through the book today and it's pretty cool.
Mike designed some of the warriors and buildings.
If you like "art of ..." books this one is cool.

There's six pictures. 2 of buildings, 1 of an interior, 3 of background warriors.

I saw the film just a little while ago and just finished with the Art Of book. It's been a good evening

I doubt that it'll be in the book, but Guy Davis did some concept zombie work early on. I got to see his stuff, and it was awesome (of course).
I saw ParaNorman today here in Tallinn, Estonia in a very small preview screening. This is now one of my favourite American animated films! Visuals are amazing, I really like this asymmetrical right-angle-less look. The story is also quite bold, I doubt there could be something like one scene here (with tongue) in Pixar films... :)
Also saw Guy Davis' name in the end credits.
Really looking forward to the artbook!
(Sadly, I got two copies of Art of Brave from Amazon, one after receiving the other, and they both arrived as damaged with banged up corners... Amazon has been real lottery in recent months.)

PS: (don't think it's a spoiler) there's this new trailer in apple's site - Making Norman, very interesting stuff to look at frame by frame. First part of the trailer (until Norman stands up and walks away) runs in the movie after the end credits.

What the?! Wow, I didn't know that they were going to be doing overseas preview screenings. And so early, too! We don't get a crew screening until a week before the U.S. release

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I agree that the look is pretty special - it took a bit of getting into the proper mindset and "groove," but I'm probably most proud of the work that I did on this film.

There's a copy of the art book that's been floating around the puppet department at the studio, but I've held off on looking at it - I want to be surprised

Actually, I don't know how to call it, maybe screening is not the right word. The people in the distribution/multiplex company here are fans themselves, so they usually will try to make one screening as soon as they get the copy and usually some people who write about movies will get the invitation. Sometimes, when the movie is of very high profile, the early screening is strictly for in-house people and secret, sometimes they see films already in international fairs, so they don't bother to make preview screenings. (There was something like this recently in Barclona, if I'm right. Frankenweenie exhibition was also there.)
There was only 4 people on ParaNorman screening - it's summer and the invitation list was very short. But I'm really happy that I had free time and I could be one of them!... :)

I can't really imagine how this uniformly deformed look was achieved and sculpted, with many people working on it, it looks so unique and personal. I really like the look of the girl, both doll and digital (I think it was digital). I hope there will be some sort of dolls on Ebay...
Camera and editing was very real-life movie-like. And lighting, I love how the light shines through the character's ears...

And I still think the REAL pinnacle of animation is stop motion, this really is a superhuman artform.
And I'm still convinced that perfect medium for Hellboy movie is stop motion!

PS: a producer from Laika was here in Tallinn last year, on animation festival. Sadly his lecture was a closed event, for only animation students.

Vera Brosgol, creator of Anya's Ghost (an amazing teen graphic novel from last year) and one of the artists doing an Adventure Time variant cover this year, worked on ParaNorman ('cos she's a Laika employee, oddly enough). That has me more excited about it than Laika as a whole.
