Is Spidey still on the FF or did they boot him once the Torch came back?

He's still around, far as I know.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

Yep, he's still in the Future Foundation but not Fantastic Four.

I very much agree. When it was first announced that he would join the FF, I was hopeful; after all, given his history with the team and his scientific acumen, it seemed (and still seems, to me) like a much better fit than the Avengers ever did.

But, everything about his tenure---from the hideous white suit to his meshing with the team---never rang true although, to be fair, he had more impact in a few short years than the 7-8 years he spent on the Avengers where he was little more than comic relief. I maintain that Spidey is best used for team-ups and guest-starring roles and not as a full fledged member of any team.

Spidey did virtually nothing on the FF! Huge disappointment.

wow so im not the only one who saw his whole FF run as forced. its a shame cause like you said considering his background and "family" status with the team he shouldve had more of a impact. instead he was pretty much background filler

Exactly, they should have at least gave him a reason that he should be on the team instead of "johnny wants you on the team" and thats it

They did. He was part of the Future Foundation. Like Val, Alex Power, Dragon Man etc. He still is too. Reed brought him in because of his smarts.

hmmmm yeah i see that, i just think their should have been a greater explanation to why he was needed on the team other than him being smart and to taking johnnys place

Yeah, but he's never really played a big part in the FF's adventures. There's no 'we've got to reverse the polarity of Dr. Doom's de-chrono-fibulizer!' moments.

I'll start out by saying the I love the FF book. Hickman has absolutely killed it for the whole series. The concept is great. It seems exactly like something Reed and Val would dream up. I'll be very sad to see Hickman leave.

That said, I agree that Spidey's part has been very disappointing. Sure, he's a bright guy who can pretty much keep up with a big brain like Reed, but he doesn't seem like he's that into the whole Future Foundation concept. I think he would serve far better as an occasional guest instructor for the kids, or as a consultant when Reed needs another opinion.

The more I think about it I feel Hickman's original intention was for Spidey to be on long-term for FF. But that got derailed because of what is happening in 700. So I think he was told to slowly ease him out of the fold. I love Dan Slott and Wacker, but why besides the obvious (SALES) even bother to put Spidey there if you knew he wont be around after 700 ahead of time. To me doing a short term sales gimmick which is actually a good and valid plot point would serve to further alienate people from FF. But hey I'm not in the business, nor know their plans for 700 so maybe I have no business saying anything at all.
