Powers:
- Able to merge with organic and inorganic matter and travel through it; Eg.> Merge into the ground and immediately reform out of the ground elsewhere .
- Able to assume the properties of the material he's merged with to shape his body and create weapons; Eg.> Partially merge with stone surrounding and create a mace with his hand.
- Can reshape what he is merged with; Eg.> Merge into steel wall and shape a hole in it so others can pass through.

Origin:
During a mission with X-Factor, Rictor came upon Amelia Voght after the Acolytes, current or former, were being killed off one by one. Originally seeking Polaris, Rictor aided in potecting Amelia. Upon being caved in, Amelia nor Rictor had any means of escape as the area they were trapped in was sealed off and was ready to collapse. While being trapped, the two acted out of instinct before being rescued.

Years have passed and X-Factor was broken up by then. Living with Shatterstar, Rictor had a life of his own. To his doorstep came the child he had not known about, Charles, who learned who his father was from Amelia. Being old enough to be on his own, Charles insisted on finding his father. Rictor and Shatterstar submitted Charles to the still standing Jean Grey Institute while they still took care of him. While living with Rictor and Shatterstar, Charles looked up to Shatterstar as the fun uncle he never had while Rictor remained protective of him.

Being hotheaded at times, Charles is another enrollment who has potential to be an X-Man.
