Would be nice to see a villain Mags again, but yeah, Sinister or Apocalypse would be better. Probably go with Sinister in the first movie then use him to set up Apocalypse in the inevitable sequel.

I also wanna see the Dark Phoenix Saga (via reboot) done RIGHT because no form of Marvel Media has ever been able to pull that off. Look at this crap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ3W8cKMtlk
Man, the 90s X-Men cartoon really hasn't aged well, even though when I picture the X-Men this is still the strongest image I have of them. Got to love nostalgia.

    Magneto.

If they're rebooting Spider-Man, they should reboot X-Men and do it right.

Magneto should have the central role in the move, as the star and the villain, but the other villain should be Amahl Farouk.

I say do two movies with the modern x-men. One with the new hellfire club which has sinister, frost and a couple of others and the hellions in them, they are making sentinels to sell to highest bidder. The movie ends with a big throwdown between hellfire and x-men and master mold. X-men win hellfire retreat, sinister goes to his real boss apocalypse, saying that the earth is ready, the strong can get rid of the weak. Setting up the next arc were apocalypse, sinister, the four horsemen and sinisters nasty boys and marauders are totally out gunning the x-men and the students need to step up.

Apocalypse could be a mega-villain for a new X-Men trilogy.
You could have Sinister being the sub-villain for the first movie (technically "X-Men 4"), maybe the Four Horsemen for X-Men 5, and then Apocalypse himself for the big finale, X-Men 6. Plus, you could mix in the Age of Apocalypse in one of those movies, or at least aspects of it.

I'm also kind of concerned about the lineup. I don't particularly want to pick up where X3 left off, or First Class for that matter. I'd really like an ANAD/post-Dark Phoenix roster, but the 90s X-Men would work too, as long as they're characterized properly. No more wimpy Rogue or nonexistent Scott and Storm.

Give the team visual diversity and individualized outfits; Spider-Man and Avengers movies have proven that superhero costumes can look good on-screen with minimal modification. No more black leather fetish gear.

Most of all, make sure they interact properly...I want Wolverine's snark and Cyclops's bossiness to cause their clash, not just generic 'stay away from my girl' machoness. I want a fun, playful Nightcrawler or none at all...no more whiny preacher BS. And for the love of the Goddess make Storm strong again. The movies color the comics, but in turn the classic comics should color the movies.

I disagree on the costume front. Spiderman can get away with it cause it's not that bad and he's a dork in character, but Captain America's costume is almost cringe worthy. I wish they had gone and made it more like his Comander Steve Rogers look. Thor can get away with it cause he's a God and Hawkeye had to steal from his Ultimate counterpart's look so he appeared more like generic shield agent then anything. I wouldn't mind individualizing them a bit, but let's not get extra silly here. There's stuff that just doesn't translate well into live action.

I'm not saying 'give them their exact costumes from TAS and the 90s.' I may like bright uniforms on the page, but I know they don't translate well to the screen.

Just that they could stand to wear more individual and color-varied costumes than just all-black with some barely-there colored piping.

I want to see Jean, if she's around, wear a green top, for example, and have hair that's red, as opposed to a dark auburn. Put Storm in something that lets the canonical claustrophobe breathe a little. Just outfits that fit the characters, rather than looking like products of an assembly line.

I didn't mind Cap's movie costume, thought it was the most blatantly superhero of the lot, not counting Iron Man.

So far this is this only suggestion that seems feasible... All of the other option are all good from a comic book point of view but let's face it... Not only would Apocalypse, Sinister, Nova, "C of the V", and or The Neo put a strain on the movie franchise -- it would require a pre-prequel to just to explain the who, what, why and how's. Senator Kelly's Master Mold/Sentinels (Project Wide Awake), The Marauders (An unsanctioned division within the Weapons X Project could possibly introduce Dr. Essex), and a more realistic Hellfire Club could work for me.
