    The Jetsons
    Flintstones
    Scooby-Doo
    Atom Ant
    Transformers
    The Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour

    The Road Runner Show
    Jonny Quest
    Thundercats

Highly recommend the Saturday Morning Cartoons collections on DVD. They have two volumes each for the 60's, 70's and 80's cartoons. They are cheap and a great blast of nostalgia is to be had!
Boomerang used to be so awesome because it still aired the old school stuff and now it is just airing stuff from the 90's and even shows from just a few years ago. I know I'm going to reveal myself as the 'GET OFF MY LAWN" old man that I've become, but it really gets on my nerves that so many channels have changed over the years. I guess it was inevitable, but it still irritates me. When Cartoon Network started, it was mainly the old school Hanna-Barbera and some Ruby-Spears stuff. They would do Bugs Bunny marathons!!!! Then it shifted to newer cartoons and the old stuff was shuffled off to Boomerang. OK, I was fine with that...at least I had Boomerang. A few years ago the change started again and Time/Warner shifted the focus of CN and Boomerang. Now you have live action movies on Cartoon Network (WTF?!?!?!) and Boomerang is mainly showing recent shows. The Hub is airing some classic cartoons from the 80's but the shifting nature of what is considered "classic" makes me feel so old.

Even though they were at least a decade or more old when I first saw them, there were some Hanna Barbera cartoons that were popular when I was young; namely, the Flintstones, the Jetsons, and Yogi Bear.

I might be a tad younger at 44. I always liked the rerun cartoons from the 60s better than the new stuff in the 70s. As discussed elsewhere on this board, my tastes skew old.

Does anyone else here remember this show. It only lasted for about a year, but it was favorite of mine:

I kept watching cartoons up until about five years ago, and if I had cable, I wouldn't have stopped even then. My favorites from my actual childhood:

    Jonny Quest
classic Warner Brothers cartoons (Bugs, Daffy, Elmer, Taz, Coyote, etc.)
Scooby Doo (just the first two seasons, and none of that Scrappy Doo nonsense)
    Hong Kong Phooey
Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

I'm one of the older folks here. I remember:

    Mighty Hercules
    Eighth Man
    Gigantor
    Astro Boy
    Kimba
the Warner Bros. classics - Bugs, Porky, Daffy, Road Runner
a lot of Hanna-Barbera - Yogi, Flintstones, Jetsons etc.
    Betty Boop
Popeye - Fleischer and later versions
    follow-the-bouncing-ball singalong cartoons
    Marvel Super Heroes
    Spider-Man - 1960s version
    Space Ghost
    Josie and the Pussycats
    Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse
    Tennessee Tuxedo
    Underdog
Dick Tracy cartoons with his "assistants" like Joe Jitsu and Hemlock Holmes
    Crusader Rabbit
    Wacky Races

This was of course interspersed with non-animated fare like the Little Rascals, the Three Stooges, the Bowery Boys, Commando Cody, and professional wrestling.

I'm not certain if it's accurate to say I watched these shows. I would watch the intros. And that would stir me up, but I don't know if I sat still to watch a complete episode. More likely I was running around half the time.

I remember always watching the part when the Spider-Man theme music played. But the actual episodes were kind of boring for me. Likewise with some of the Superman-Aquaman Hour.

Flintstones was a prime time TV show with great theme music and I think I sat through entire episodes with my whole family. Pebbles and Bamm Bamm even had a hit song that got lots of airplay--a cover of "Open Up Your Heart (And Let the Sunshine In)".

The Bugs Bunny Show also played in prime time, initially, and its theme song was a rousing number--"This Is It." Of course, that was one show that I would sit still to watch. Except for the Road Runner--when I was a kid I hated the Road Runner and I would walk out of the room when his theme music began to play.

Some other shows I really loved for their theme music were The Jetsons, Underdog, Rocket Robin Hood, Sinbad Jr., The Mighty Hercules, and Mighty Mouse.

But the cartoon show with the greatest music was The Beatles.

I think, looking back, that Filmation's "Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle" from CBS in the mid-70s was one of the best versions that TV or the movies ever produced. Certainly more faithful to the Burroughs novels than most. As in the books, Tarzan speaks fluently (not the "Me Tarzan" of some movies). He does not have a chimp named Cheeta, but as in the books, a monkey named N'Kima is his friend. Most of the place names are straight out of the books. I loved that show.

Filmation also did a pretty solid version of Flash Gordon. At least the first season was good...the second season, not so much.

I know that this thread is about childhood cartoons but one recent show I thought was hilarious was PINKY AND THE BRAIN. It was broadcast primetime here in the Boston area a few years ago and the reason why I liked it was because whoever portrayed The Brain was doing a hysterical impression of Orson Welles!
