They should get one of the newer Gundam series.

Since the only thing I watch on AS is anime and can't stand those crappie/creepy bumpers. If the return of Toonami means I don't have to see those inferno things I say YEA!!!
    Broadcast OTA = Free TV

I wonder if they'll still have the rights to air Dragon Ball (Z, Kai or GT)? Because Nickelodeon is the one currently airing GT (and was airing Kai). If they do have the rights to use any version of the show I hope they use Dragon Ball Kai (and then revert to old series if they ever to the Buu Saga) because it has better pacing than the original and touched-up animation.

Yeah, the Ponies are too good for Toonami!

But seriously, Ponies on Toonami would be awesome. They could even do a cross-promotion between MLP: FiM and Robot Unicorn Attack.

    Fixed.

Uh, considering it's going to be Adult Swim, I'm highly doubting MiP is getting anywhere near Toonami.

Then again they've trolled us before.

IIRC they aired DBZ on AF.

Hasbro owns MLP and they air it on their own network...the HUB...its also on Netflix, I don't see them syndicating it any time soon

Like some one said, they aired it on April Fool's.
But it was old episode, the none Kai ones, and i dont think Nick play the none Kai ones because all that stuff i a bit more adult.
If the different versions have different rights i guess they could play the old ones?

I wonder, am I the only one who remembers when Toonami was hosted by Moltar and featured Thundercats, Voltron, Birdman and The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest? Honestlly, other than some assorted shows, that was probably the last time I watched the program. I was never all that big into anime.

I was big into Toonami around the 1999-2001 years: DBZ (everyone watched this), Gundam (I actually liked the original show and 08th MS Team more than Wing), Big O, Tenchi Muyo, and Outlaw Star. When Adult Swim started it was pretty much over for me. I felt that the Toonami stuff was getting more juvenile while AS was showing stuff that seemed more like a progression of the Toonami I liked.

Oh, and let's not forget: Toonami showed the DCAU shows, too. A lot of people forget that (I almost did), but they were always a big part of the block.

My hopes for the new Toonami? Panty and Stocking as a new show and Outlaw Star for a nostalgia rerun.

I remembered that. Actually got me into Johnny Quest. If there is one thing I want from the new Toonami is that is showcases good animated programing, not talking about just anime. Then maybe have a slot for nostalgic Toonami shows just incase this revival get a good enough buzz.

While we are at it put Thundercats on Toonami and leave the Saturday morning slot for DC related shows only.

I remember being up late back in early 2000 and catching a bit of "Thundercats" during the midnight run. But most of my exposure to Toonami was 2001-2003, when the DCAU stuff was on there.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they used to air the original Transformers series back in the early days of Toonami?
