Default Should Grant Morrison have been allowed to End BATMAN?

Meaning should Morrison have been allowed to give Batman a real ending? Just seems to me like a lost opportunity. I would have really liked to have seen Morrison give Batman his "What ever happened to the man of tomorrow," or "Dark Knight Returns" for the Dark Knight before the New 52 came along.

I mean it does seem like that might have been the original intention in a way. His run felt like it was meant to put a stamp on the whole thing. REally would like to know how much GM was compromised by FInal Crisis and the NEW 52.

Well I'm saying more in terms of a non-offical ending. Like "What ever happened to the man of tomorrow"

No, I mean GM version of the last story of Batman. With WHTEMOT being an example of a ending story that wasn't offical.

It really was a beautiful story, I like it better than Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow myself.

That version of Gailman was fitting for what it was

Its not necessary to have a clone of WEHTTMOT

I don't really think that Morrison is being kept from writing whatever he wants to write.

In a sense, "there will be Batmen and Robins until at least 1,000,000 AD" (Batman #700) is something of an ending. For that matter, the same thing could be said about the last page of FC #7 or "Tell him Gotham's in trouble. And tell him he'll need this," from RoBW #6.
A utility belt full of crap and a positive outlook?

Not saying it had to be, just that I thought Grant Morrison should have been allowed to have it his own version of the last Batman story. Dark Knight Returns is in it's way a finale for Batman.

You're assuming he's got a story like that he wants to tell and isn't being allowed.
