So what's the old muck monster been up to lately? Last I heard he had a job as a security guard for an inter-dimensional portal or something like that.

Remember that time the European Union put Man-Thing in charge of the Greek economy? That was hilarious!

    P.S. WTF is this?!?!?!

He's been metamorphasizing in Thunderbolts under Satana's watchful eye. Great art from Kev Walker, and a solid ongoing story from Jeff Parker.

Hang on! The thread has gone off on a wild tangent since this post, talking about all sorts of irrelevant stuff about Ploog's fantastic art and Gerber's hugely impressive Man-Thing*, but this Hush Puppy stuff has just been forgotten - is everyone just going to ignore that Dan likes eating shoes?! I mean, it's hard not to imagine Dan gnawing on his shoes in frustration at, say, Frank Robbins art or Frank Miller's writing**, but to actually eat the shoes? That's just weird, dude. And even more bizarre, that (a) other people don't seem to think that this is unusual, and (b) that Dan think shoes are a type of bread?

Every time I think I've got the hang of Americans, something like this comes along...

What else would one do with shoes?

Please don't suggest wearing them. I'm from Arkansas, where such behavior is considered puttin' on airs, if not engaging in a genuinely unnatural act.

(In truth, I"m usually in my stocking feet even at work.)

I do find Frank Springer's work generally uninspiring, too, albeit with a couple of notable exceptions.

I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."
Basically, if you miss the wonder of a dog flying around in a little Superman cape, you're in the wrong hobby.

Anyone looking forward to Infernal Man-Thing? Kind've surprised they're bringing it out as a three-issue miniseries first as I think it would work better as the OGN it was first announced as.
