Default ABC Rejects "AKA Jessica Jones," Says "Hulk" Possible For Fall 2013

ABC has passed on the "AKA Jessica Jones" pilot based on Marvel's "Alias" by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, but network President Paul Lee remains hopeful for a 2013 live-action "Incredible Hulk" series.

If not this version, I hope another version of the concept with Jessica Jones is worked on.

Curious to know why this got rejected but somehow the same network green lights crap about some corny superhero family from a couple years back

Hopefully the pilot will get released on iTunes like the Aquaman pilot did.

A Heroes for Hire TV series with Luke Cage and Danny Rand would be so much better.

It was only going to last one season on ABC anyway before it got cancelled. It might have had a better chance on ABC Family, IMO (don't let the network's name fool you)...
Always remember this stuff isn't real.

    That's 0-2 for Bendis.

I'm honestly not sure if Hulk would be my choice for a TV show either. I can't help but feel to do it right would need a hefty budget, and I still can't imagine a big-headed live action Leader.

Heroes for Hire though is a much better concept, imo. Plus the effects budget wouldn't need to be significant to make it work.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

Speaking of ABC Family, I'm pretty curious about Mockingbird. It seems like a property that should translate pretty easily to a tv series, especially if we're looking at her history as an agent and scientist.

I only want to see that if it plays like an exploitation film.

A show like this should be one HBO in my opinion.

Yeah, for those that have actually read Alias, it would be a little edgy for network TV. IMO, the godawful name might have had something to do with the rejection. Obviously they can't call it Alias, but they really couldn't come up with something better than that? I'm usually against comic to screen translations, but this is one that could be pretty good if done properly (I.E. not by Disney).

Sadly, I would love to see that too, but I think it's about 25 years too late for that unfortunately.

What the hell does that even mean? Would her comic make for a good show? Seems like it would. So who cares.

I would love to see Quentin Tarantino tackle that project for Marvel.
