Which books because in AvsX#1 he said that the PF was a force of death and rebirth and how they can prepare Hope for it and in the Uncanny tie-in he mentions about how this is what they've been waiting and sacrificing everything for before ending things with a desperate 'It has to be'. Scott's putting all his chips into this plan. He has no plan of stopping the PF, he knows its a threat but is hoping for the rebirth part of it instead of the death part. He may be a strong leader but he's shown that he's a desperate man.

Problem with his thoughts there is, how do the X-Men stop someone who can copy all of their powers and has the power of the PF on top of that should they go out of control? If Hope ever went out of control, it's likely end up even worse than Jean could ever have gotten.

I didn't say it would be easy, just easier. She's strong, but not invincible, and Hope isn't as dangerous as Jean. Jean is an Omega level telepath without the PF. The only time they've been able to do any real damage to the PF was when they attacked the host. "Jean" committed suicide. Also, when Xorn killed the real Jean. They've never had any luck trapping it or containing it when it is loose. Plus, when in a host, the host does have some degree of control, if not total, meaning that she could suppress it enough for them to fight it.
