CHALLENGE 7: SPACE COWBOY

Welcome to Project CBRunway!

PLEASE VOTE for any and all entries you feel best complete the challenge. Please vote based on how well the challenge is met, not on art ability. Participants may vote for themselves. Designers will receive a point for each vote they receive. The three contestants who have accumulated the most votes over the eight weekly challenges will move on to CBR Fashion Week.

NOTE: Only registered CBR members with a posting history may vote. Any votes from posters sharing any IP addresses will not be counted, no exceptions. Any fraudulent voting will result in disqualification and a possible permanent forum ban.

CHALLENGE 7: SPACE COWBOY
For your seventh challenge you must create a new character combining two genres: The Western and Science Fiction. You must also incorporate a technological version of a traditional Western accessory (such as a pistol, a lariat, a steed, etc.). All submissions should include a three-sentence description of each costume explaining, to the best of your ability, material, functionality, design inspiration, etc. You may name your character and include one sentence addressing biographical details.

Nerissa Nebula is the proprietress of the most famous house of negotiable affection in the galaxy, Nerissa Nebula's Galactic Good-Time Saloon.

My inspiration for Nerissa's outfit came from old west madams and the girls who worked for them. Nerissa's outfit is a combination of old west fashion and high tech, with a corset that doubles as a control panel for the house, robotic arms and a robotic leg, an elaborate hairdo that holds several "firegems", and a red "lace" that is actually a living computer that runs on body heat. Nerissa carries a Colt 2835 Peacemaker quantum pistol for defense and a stogie for character.

Mostly brown, earthy tones, and some classic references to westerns. Is it human, or something close to human, we'll never know for sure since the helmet leaves much to the imagination. Electric lasso and some funky spurs to set it on a distant planet where spacecows need herding.

After crash landing in the late 19th century, Allen used his quick intellect and sharp wit to become Sheriff.

Allen's costume is a combination of western style and his alien space suit; Allen wears chaps over blue jeans, cowboy boots, a beaten-up cowboy hat, gun holsters, his sheriff badge, and his alien gauntlets. These gauntlet's can create energy constructs which allow him to create unlimited ammo for his classic revolvers and shotgun; they also can create energy lassos which are practically unbreakable and can create an electrical discharge. Constructs are blue and glow.

Sidenote: Allen has two sets of arms at his sides, another set from his back, and one last set from his butt.

Cool stuff . . . but End of Time get's my vote . . . hands down . . . perhaps it the coloring/shading . . . but it just feels like the artist really have a connection to the character.
