Default Now That Thor is a Household Name....

....How about another JLA/Avengers crossover, ending in a less PIS induced story with an earth rumbling finale between DC's go to guy and Marvel's go to guy....written by JMS!

Also, what about a pre-teen Thor and his three companions, along with Sif, Amora and Hela as regulars in a Saturday morning series aimed at the same audience that Justin Bieber is aimed at? I mean, if Justin Bieber can attract that market, why not Chris Hemsworth (albeit, his teenage, Saturday morning cournter part).

There are so many opportunities Marvel should jump on right now with regard to the character Thor.

I would like to see something with Loki and Thor as kids. But a aged feel to it. why have it where its modern day they are far older then today. They were kids when the world was in its youth. Some mountain ranges were not around yet.

I feel like you're insisting that "the dials go to '11'" part of JLA/Avengers had to do with popularity. But, even if it did, Thor's popularity today still would not override the other guys'. So, you'd still essentially get "the dials go to '11'" and with similar results.

I feel like Marvel is definitely working on Thor's image to the publics consciousness because Thor has seemed to appeal to both males and females rather effortlessly.

I've been patiently waiting for a DC/Marvel crossover... of ANY kind... for a very long time. Quesada hates the idea.

On the cartoon thing? Yeah I dunno. There hasn't even been a follow-up to that awesome Spawn series HBO had. I'd love to see something adult done.

I think the hang ups with any DC/Marvel cross overs are on the DC side.

But either way, I think it's a lot harder to do now that Marvel is owned by Disney. It's basically Disney doing something with Warner Brothers. That's gotta be twice the amount of red tape.

    Hi "Hulk_Is".

I'm simply saying why not let Stan's vision for Thor come to fruition? In my opinion, and I know not everyone will agree (but I don't care as long as no one can clearly prove me otherwise), Thor was Stan's answer to Superman. He was Stan's first "Cape" at Marvel. In the prologue of the book, Origin's of Marvel Comics, Meanwhile, Back in Asgard...., Stan makes a few references to Superman, as he does in all his other prologues for all but one of the main featured characters in that book. Thor was clearly Stan's top dog at Marvel when he first borrowed from Norse myth when creating the character. And I think there are a number of people that would agree, that there were a number of biases against Thor having any success against Superman from the beginning in that story. Superman has been a household name and DC's bread and butter for decades. Kurt Busiek, as he will attest with no shame, not only likes the character more than Thor, his personal bias was for Superman from the start.

JMS would be the perfect writer for the story. He works for DC now AND he wrote Thor the way he should have been written.

And popularity for the character Thor is exactly why Marvel should move on Thor now. I don't know how many comments I've heard at my job from the women with regard to Chris Hemsworth. They loved the movie and I don't think it had to do with the hammer.

I don't want a new version of JLA/Avengers. Busiek wrote a great story, and I say that as a Thor fan. Superman would have won that fight anyway because he's almost as fast the Flash, so Thor would have never hit him once. Furthermore, I wouldn't bother buying anything written by JMS anymore, because he has a terrible time finishing projects that he starts. And finally, JLA/Avengers was enjoyable because it featured the definitive versions of those characters, but a new JLA/Avengers would be a disappointment because it would feature the DCnU versions of these characters that don't have much history or personality yet.

Thor would be left speechless when Superman just walks away.

Yeah, as much as I like some of JMS's stuff I'm not sure I'd trust him to do a project like this. I'm sure my great great grandkids might enjoy the end result when it's finally done, but I'd need a bit more instant gratification here.

Though I don't think the Thor/Superman fight was written as well as it could have been I think either person could have believably won. So as far as outcomes go, IMO it's not a huge issue as long as the writing works.

I do agree though that something is lost if it ends up being the new DC characters rather than the previous versions. It would almost feel like sending the Ultimates to fight the JLA instead of the 616 Avengers. Perhaps that feeling will fade overtime, but that's how it feels right now.

    Hey, I got an idea.

Let's take our red hot properties and use them to promote DC.
