Zola and Abigail Arcane

Is there a connection? This double cover for the Animal Man/Swamp Thing cover got me thinking. I haven't been reading Swamp Thing, and my first thought on seeing it is 'What's she doing there?' They both seem to be drawn to similar environments and carry similar weapons.

Paquette has taken several large steps forward as an artist, it seems.

She's the chosen one to become the Rot's queen the way Swampy is the avatar of the Green. She got abducted by agents of the rot and transformed into a huge bug like monster, but Swampy managed to save her and transform her back to normal. Almost. She still has powers.

I dont know why she's carrying a shotgun there, maybe she loses her powers completely? I have no idea. But she doesnt really have anything in common with Zola.

On another note, i'd love to see WW team up with Swamp Thing, and especially Maxine when she gets older (remember that vision of the future? She was really cool.) The book would easily fit in the Dark line, so these teamups seem really feasible.

Unless they retcon something in there is no connection, Abigail Arcane is an established part of the Swamp Thing mythos having been around since the 70s, they just happen to look similar.

Paquette has been amazing on this title. Marco Rudy's fill-ins have been really solid as well.
