We keep seeing the JL go through nobodies and nothing really happens. Is this supposed to be how Johns focuses on the relationships and characters of the leaguers?

How about telling some meaningful stories and using them to show and develop the characters as opposed to wasting a whole issue on the JL facing blue gooey thingies?

How about not judging an entire issue from a 4 page preview? GASP what a concept. This arc is supposed to be more personal and develop a relationship between the new villain (who's been teased since issue 2 might I add) and the Justice League. It's the guy who wrote the book about them that's the villain

I'm judging because the last issue was wasted on the JL fighting those gooey things, the Owls, and now we just spent 4 pages on them fighting some arkham inmates in search for a minor villain.

I'd rather they had spent this first year on the JL's first adventures together, how they formed the team, how they bonded, etc and in September jump 5 years forward. Not that empty Darkseid story, then a 5 year jump so that Johns can show the JL beating random dudes so that it feels like they were doing something these 5 years.

I'm sure there's a deeper plot going on somewhere that's been teased. Issue 8 teased a potential new book, this new villains been built up since issue 2, the Trinity War has been built up since issue six. Also, every writer has a different take on the Justice League. Johns is more action first, character development in later issues. I'm excited for the team change up at the end of #12

Im with you, other Dr. Hurt. I should love this book, but it seems like Johns is losing his touch or he's just too occupied with GL and Aquaman. Either way, the last issue with Green Arrow was at least fun and the J'onn scenes were great...But it still didn't advance the league. They still feel like a bunch of carbon copies standing around pretending to be the Justice League. I don't feel like I know these heroes and I still find myself just distracted by the DIFFERENCES between it and the classic lineup. It's "hey! we have a robot instead of a martian!" and "Wouldn't this look different if Superman had underwear on? BUT HE DOESNT! NEW! There's no way Dr. Light would have been able to rape Sue Dibny had Batman and Superman not worn underwear on top of their pants!"

Its not new, just different. Empty too.

In other news, it looks like Cyborg has his body armor upgrade(compare it to the flashback on the same page where his dad is talking to him on the table) in this issue. It was first shown in the FCBD gatefold. Batman and Green Arrow also had some design changes in that gatefold that most people missed.

lol it has nothing to due with respect.

It gets annoying reading posters(like you) who consistently bash a book with each new topic made about it. Okay we got it in the previous Justice League threads, you don't like it. No need to come into every single thread and announce it.

Batman should take this as a lesson... all Important secrets must be hand written only, no computers.

Hmm, IMO. Good Point. Anything can be hacked. Bruce is going to have to write his plans for taking out his own teammates on paper. Still nice to see some friction.

But i had high hopes for this issue because supposedly we'd get into the Graves story. Instead Superman and Cyborg are punching holes into a mental institution and Batman doesnt know his way into Arkham.

Sorry, but i had to whine.

    Super decompressed.

I'm not hating this, but it certainly isn't good. It's not BADLY written per se, but it's not doing anything GOOD for any of the charaters, IMHO. I'd be upset if Johns had sole control over my favorite character, but luck--- oh. Oh, right. He does.

    Le sigh.
