Thought I'd check out Justice League again now that Jim Lee is back in the fold. While I can't say it's the greatest story I've read, it's certainly an improvement over some of the latest issues and I enjoyed it for the most part.
The problem I still have with the story is Johns is so desperately trying to give every character his/her moment in the spotlight in every single issue. As a result, you have things like the Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman aside, which while mildly amusing, was utterly pointless. There's no real focus and no character stands out unless you're already a big fan. I'm a Superman fan so Justice League #2 really appealed to me (what with Superman easily bringing Hal down a peg or three). But Johns didn't do too well a job making me like the other characters. They're just cardboard cut outs and their big moments are showcases for Lee's art rather than real character development. Would it kill Johns to have an entire issue only focus on only a couple of characters?
Still, like I said, it's Justice League is decent for what it is. My favourite moment was Clark receiving the message from Bruce asking if he had any plans for lunch, then cut to a full page splash of them bursting into Arkham. Not exactly anything new, but it was done well.
