So basically, it's X-Men: First Class with a dash of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is now the apparently new back-story for the X-Men overall. Also, notice how this is a five-issue mini-series beginning in August which also means the last issue will be in December...and correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be right around the time Avengers vs. X-Men is over? Hmm....

Sabretooth was now on the first Avengers Team AND the first X-Men team?
Can we retro shoehorn him into any other Teams? Victor Creed was one of the original Fantastic Four! He was supposed to accompany Reed and Ben into space, before they snuck out and stole the rocket the night before!
Also, not only was he on the same spy team as Richard and Mary Parker, in one of his low periods, he was a janitor at a science research center and inadvertently let some spiders out of their glass boxes the night before a big exhibit the next day. Oh, he was also the driver of the car that almost crashed into Stephen Strange. And did we mention he's the guy that bet Rick Jones he was to sissy to drive out on the Army Testing Grounds? He was also the jerk that told that old blind guy it was safe to cross the street because no cars or trucks were coming. Yeah. True stories.
I believe all that needs to be said has been. So here’s my two cents.”-- ScottMC, inadvertently summing up the Internet.
This idea sounds and looks horrid in my opinion. I like Wolverine as a character when it makes sense. He makes sense in Wolverine and the X-Men and Uncanny X-Force, and obviously his own book. Aside from that? Just too much, imo. And Sabretooth part of the "first" X-Men? Meh, I preferred him much more when the government was controlling him in X-Factor.
Maybe it's going to be a fake out. We'll think it's Mystique and it will turn out to be changeling. I'd be more keen on this if Wolverine wasn't involved. His history is complicated enough as it is.

My thoughts exactly. First we got the Avengers of 1950 and now this... both with Sabretooth. Victor is just as important or more so than Wolverine! Heck, Victor gets to be revived... wait, I guess most characters get that too. I'm not a fan of either retcons... It's like the characters conveniently "forgot" about all these earlier events! I guess Wolverine has an excuse since his mind gets wiped over and over...
Hobo Namor more exciting than Neal Adams, Eric Lensherr, and Wolverine canon??? I have to wonder about that liveblog audience.
