Default Contemplating buying Azz's run when it's finished.

I'm considering whether or not to buy up the rest of Azzarello's WW when it's over.

I'm one of those who doesn't like it, at least not what I've read. I stopped reading at issue 4. But I do like WW. Should I go back and buy the back issues when it's over, for completionist's sake? Will it read better? Or just stick to online spoilers?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Between the first 4 issues and the others there's not really that much of a change in pace, characters, actions or overall feel. Not to sound like a jerk, but "Completionist's sake" is stupid and a waste of money.

Not liking the actual story, and not liking the pace of a story are two different things. If you don't like the story, then of course don't buy it. If you don't like the slow pace then buying the Trade is the best choice.

I know how you feel - not with WW (I'm too much of a stupid diehard fan to not buy it) but with being a 'completist.'

After almost 40 years I stopped buying JLA when it became unrecognizable and poorly written (Robinson). Every now and then I'm tempted because I just don't like having gaps in my collection, but I so despised his run that I just can't bring myself to do it.

So I guess it's a matter of weighing 'how much do you not like the run' versus 'how much do you not like having holes in your collection.'

It took a helluva lot to get me to drop JL, my longest running title (personally - I inherited some longer running stuff from The Husband when our collections merged). It's sort of a form of OCD that some folks don't understand (I don't blame them <grin>)

Overall? If it were me? If I didn't hate the run a lot, I'd hunt around later on E-bay and try to pick 'em up cheap provided I continued to get the title later.

No. Wait until it's done and get the trades. I'm probably going to do that. I don't like it now, but stuff generally reads better all together. And maybe with time everything will be more chill.

This run will be costlier than many to collect in TPBs as well. The first one has been announced; it collects 1-6. I'd anticipate at least two more for the whole story.

Wait and see. At this poit, I'm not even sure we know how long the story is going to be. Watch the spoilers if you want, and see if the story develops in a way that's more enjoyable for you.

    Happy reading.

Eh why? Azzarello has mentioned that the overall arc currently running would be running a year or so, making it fit nicely into 2 TPB of equal size.

I am wondering if I should buy the TPB myself atm because while I hold a subscription on WW, there was a number of titles where subscribers were moved a month rather than give them a #1 (which some of us had hoped for :( ) So, strangely enough I have #1 of Action Comics, 'Tec, JLD and TT, but not JL (despite the times it was reprinted :( ), WW and Catwoman. Rest I have to get digitally...

I'm buying it strictly so I won't have a hole in my Wonder Woman collection. I do think the pacing would be better if I read it in one fell swoop without all the fits and starts. There's not enough action and I think one of the main reasons people enjoy it is because they love speculating on where the story is going. I'm not that type of reader, if I go to the bakery and buy cake I don't want to come home and frost it myself.

Don't feel too weird about the buying every issue subject. I haven't skipped one since 1974. (WW).

JL? Wonder Woman has been displayed as a mindless Sif with a sword and not enough for my $3.99 each month. I'm going to start previewing the issues prior to buying them and I'll only get the ones where she's in it considerably, with good art. Just like I used to do in the 80's.
