By this rational, no laughing gas, no laughing fish, no trick flower, no bleached chemical skin = Not Joker. And as much as I don't like Ledger's Joker, I am willing to admit that he was still the Joker. Just he was a take I'm not partial to. I still think the Nolan take on Ra's is one of the stronger interpretations of the character because it doesn't complicate things. He's really quite simple and straightforward.

I liked Neeson's Ra's a lot and the twist really worked for the movie.

That being said, I think that if he remains dead he loses an aspect of the comics/cartoons that added another layer of appeal to me such as being so long lived and being able to come back to life thanks to the Lazarus Pits. Hopefully the Talia stuff is well realized here and leads to something interesting, I'm guessing she'll be the mastermind of the movie with a twist similar to Ra's in the first.

It was a good twist and Liam Neeson is a good enough actor that he leads credibility to almost anything, even if he is miscast. I would have preferred a classical interpretation of Ra's but Batman Begins probably got about as much right as it could have for a live-action blockbuster film.

It's Liam Neeson, duh!! That man can play the part of Sponge Bob and it would be awesome.

Actually if you read back issues he was far closer to the Sensai than he was to UBU but I can see the amalgamation.
