Not being able to quickly pisses him off. "Stupid object! HULK IS STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!!!!"

That was pretty much revealed in The Incredible Hulk movie, wasn't it?

Anything that got his heart rate up beyond a certain point was going to cause the transformation.

I guess the finer point I'm kind of teasing at here is that when Hulk and Banner are "together", "as one", "one person", or however you want to think of it, Hulk is the personification of Banner's rage. Hulk can ONLY exists as a rageful monster when he "is" an aspect of Banner's personality. That's the only way he's allowed to live, is if he's mad. Might explain some of his bitterness toward Banner. But, without Banner, Hulk now can experience a whole range of human emotions without reverting back to Banner. Or, at least, he should be able to if they are really treating him as a separate person from Banner. So, once he is capable of more emotions than just rage, as a being whose anatomy and physiology are EXCEPTIONALLY tied to his affective state, what does Hulk (GREEN Hulk) become when he is happy, or sad, or in love if these emotions no longer imprison him in Banner's subconscious?

They may appear to be, but they never really are. They're the same person. That's always the twist, right? Hulk can NEVER truly escape his prison of rage, because that's all he is. He's Banner's rage manifesting as a separate personality, but they are still the same person. So even when it appears he's escaped Banner, he hasn't.

Banner has MPD. That's why all the other gamma monsters don't have alter egos. They were just gamma accidents, whereas Banner/Hulk is a Gamma accident + pathologically suppressed anger + MPD, right? And the proof is that even after Hulk believes he's killed Banner, he still cannot become happy, because he only exists as rage.

I don't know, though... Please correct me if you have more insight into this. I stopped collecting Hulk years ago, right after the end of WWH. But, the previews I've been reading lately seem interesting. They seem to be addressing the things I'm asking about here.

Indeed, there is always some twist. I'm really skeptical that Doom actually split Hulk and Banner this time. I think the whole thing was another Doom lie.

Depends on what you mean by "alter ego." All of the heroic Hulks can switch back and forth, but they all seem to retain their personalities. Shulkie might gain some self-confidence, but she's still the same personality.

Well, if you listen to the OHOTMU, it will state Hulk's initial strength level at around 70 tons.

Proving that in terms feats? Whole different ball of yarn.
