    Default A Sound of Money

Your mission is to make the time travel dinosaur hunting business from A Sound of Thunder profitable while removing the stupid from it.

    Can you do it?
Yeah I give up. They would need like a bajillion UNs to take it out. And they would all have to work.

How the hell am I supposed to make a profit when I keep rewriting the entirety of the last 65 million years and coming back home to a society of Wasp-People who don't accept Brittish currency?

I suppose you could use a different planet and clone dinosaurs and charge rich hunters in the future to travel to the planet in the past and...

    No...there's no way.

Is it possible to make any money off the time travel technology displayed in the story?
Yeah I give up. They would need like a bajillion UNs to take it out. And they would all have to work.

Ha ha ha! No. At least not the movie version. That didn't make any sense at all. If it had been written right, they'd come back to the future and find out the compamny had gone out of business months ago because they had to pay back the previous hunters when they arrived to find an already-shot dinosaur.

I guess I could take them back in time to go hunt the screenwriters.

It was meant to be a different Dino each time, I'm pretty sure.

Probably, in the short story. Bradbury was a good writer, who cared about things like internal consistency.

Not in the movie. They pretty much said "Oh we found this one dinosaur in the fossil record that died in an eruption, so we'll use it for all our safaris, since it's 'safe'." (Though frankly, even that doesn't make any sense, since there's going to be all sorts of little changes from even that interaction, but I was willing to cut it a little slack at the start.) But it's the same dinosaur. IIRC The main character has done it enough times that he can even time when the dinosaur comes into view and it's reactions from memory. They don't run into the other hunting parties because they just... don't, except when they need to at the end of the movie.

Yeah that's silly as all heck.

Hell though, with a 65 million year timeframe, displacing air would probably render the timeline unrecognisable.

That did bother me about the movie.

It is the *SAME* scene they time warp too. They should in turn be there with all the *OTHERS* who came there to shoot said dinosaur.

Awesome deleted scene: Ten Thousand temporal tourist groups show up at once and literally evaporate the dinosaur in a hail of lead.
