Moving this here because some might complain that it isn't on topic.
In the last game where I could make just one character- and that one character better had been engaging enough to stick with- the process of making such a character lasted for the entire two years I was in middle school (And I didn't even get to play it because the group split up at that point).
One year is a conservative estimate for a system such as anima.

A simple way to do it would have been 'come up with concept for character. Sharp translates concept into Anima. FBC decides on changes, suggests alternative ideas. Sharp changes things, suggests some stuff himself'.
It worked out fine with others. :)
Buuuuut maybe that wouldn't work for you. :( Would have been happy to try, though.
It depends what you mean by "making" a character.
Anima can take a while to get the fundamental characteristics stuff down. i.e. the "hard" character stuff. The numbers. The attributes, abilities, advantages & disadvantages, equipment etc, etc, etc. But you can do it in a day or two if you're really keen.
The soft stuff (personality quirks, background, inter-relationships with other PCs and NPCs, maybe even some non-crucial aspects of appearance)..... that stuff you NEVER stop making. You're always developing and refining it. There will always be situations that arise to which you didn't consider your character's response when you created them. So a good character is always being "made" in that sense.
And then there's the level-planning, developmenty stuff. That you can do some of when you first create, some while you're working your way towards Level 2, and some that you keep re-visiting and re-adjusting all the way through.

Since we're on the subject, this is a message to all those in my game, both groups.
Shit is going down.

Because this is the Chapter 1 Finale.

Sounds good.
Having to wait an hour to attempt to catch the next bus sucks.
Why, I even feel...

Since I'm stuck waiting...
Let's say I have concept A.
Who knows where the hell concept A came from (a few words in a song I heard, the distillation of something that happened in a random dream, an adaptation of another character from a story I read, an odd interpretation of something I found interesting, etc). But whatever it's origins, concept A is- to me- the best thing ever and the subject of nigh-infinite obsession, at least for a while.
I hear from someone that I join game A.
I go see what game A is, attempting to determine whether concept A would work in game A.
I get lost, completely unable to determine this.
I present concept A to others in game A.
I am told concept A is completely impossible to implement in game A in a way that's insulting to concept A.
Insulted, I redouble my efforts into learning game A's system, trying to prove the others wrong.
I realize that I actually can do concept A, but by that time the love of concept A has completely dissipated.
I come up with concept B, which is something I know can work in game A's system in general, but may or may not work in game A's setting.
I present concept B to a respected member of the others.
After a bit of work (and a lot of questions), concept B is modified enough to justify calling it concept C.
While I see that concept C is exactly what concept B needed to be in order to work in game A's system, I am dissatisfied with concept C, mainly because concept C is no longer solely my own creation. (Yeah, I don't like using things within my own ability to make if they're made by someone else.)
Taking things learned from the process of creating concept C from concept B, I attempt concepts D through M, which are used as learning exercises.
Figuring I've learned enough about what I think works in game A's system, I create concept N.
I present concept N to see what others think.
I am told that while concept N is well-executed, it's useless because of XYZ.
Refusing to believe something is useless, I attempt to craft a scenario to test concept N and find out that, while it isn't useless, it isn't much fun either.
I create concepts O through W, getting more and frustrated when they too don't work.
I eventually say "screw this" and make concept X, which combines everything I know about game A's system and setting with pure RAEG.
Concept X is banned from orbit because it's too powerful (though still completely legal) for game A's setting.
Doing revisions, concept X becomes concept Y, which is balanced for game A's system.
I don't like concept Y though, so I say "screw this" again, and make concept Z out of whatever I think would be cool to do at the time.
I play concept Z, if there's still space in the game at that point.
